TenneCheat VolunTears (but..but..but.. we're good at baseball)

This level of stupid from the NCAA is shocking to me, and my opinion of them couldn't be lower (or so I thought). If they really wanted to win this, they would've gone after one of the more feckless NCAA members. The governor of Tennessee is releasing statements. The AGs of Tennessee and Virginia are suing the NCAA. After Kavanaugh's opinion on the Alston case, I expected them to be more strategic with their enforcement, but this is akin to trying to inseminate a hornet's nest with honey for a lubricant.

THE WEEKENDER: NLRB RULES DARTMOUTH ATHLETES AS EMPLOYEES, TENNESSEE AND VIRGINIA’S NIL LAWSUIT HITS A ROADBLOCK AND GRUBB LEAVES ALABAMA FOR THE NFL

TENNESSEE AND VIRGINIA’S NIL LAWSUIT HITS ROADBLOCK

The legal battle between the Universities of Tennessee and Virginia against the NCAA heated up during the week after U.S. District Judge Clifton Corker upheld the NCAA’s prohibition of name, image and likeness compensation from being used as a recruiting inducement.

Corker’s decision ultimately denied a temporary restraining order request from Tennessee and Virginia, which filed federal antitrust laws against the NCAA last week, after it was revealed that Tennessee was under NCAA investigation for potential NIL-related recruiting violations. The states sought this temporary restraining order to protect recruits’ rights to earn compensation for their name, image and likeness.

Corker based his ruling on the described failure of both states to provide reasoning as to how recruits would be harmed if the temporary restraining order were not granted.

The next step in the lawsuit is the preliminary injunction hearing, which is set for Tuesday.

like the 1974 Chevy Silverado that's on blocks and has no engine compartment and the glass for the windows is all broken out.

Even though it's Tennessee, I still wouldn't be surprised if the NCAA were in the wrong here and that Danny White's version of events is essentially the truth.

Having said that... who knows...
It does sometimes seem like the NCAA goes harder on lower tier schools to compensate for their slap on the wrist treatment of certain protected programs.
