Terrell Owens (official thread of nonsense)

Hard to believe that basically, there is only one rule that an NFL athlete can't break...openly criticizing his teammates, and Owens has done it not once, but repeatedly, and has done it to one of the most popular guys on the team and in the NFL.

Think Favre would actually play with this guy? More likely he would kick the crap out of him...

I'd have a hard time finding a more selfish athlete....ever. How somebody can be so thickheaded to not realize how the things he says are going to come off is incredible to me. Go away T.O. you scurvey scheister bastard!:teeth:

"I didn't get a celebration for my 100th touchdown." :sad2:

.....pfffffft.:tibor:

The one good thing this time is that he is taking a gigantic ass-pounding in the media, unlike previous times. Even on all the college games I watched today (and I watched a lot), every single commentator seemed to have something to say (My favorite was when someone said David Cutler from Vanderbilt reminded them of Brett Favre, the guy said "Which begs the question would the Eagles be undefeated right now with David Cutler at QB?). The only guy I hear go easy on him was Michael Irvin, and even he wasn't defending him really, just easing back enough to get another interview, I think.

I'm stilling trying to understand what TO's problem with the world is after this. First he gets anry at the Eagels for saying they could win without him in the playoffs last year. What are they supposed to say they're going to lose without one guy? Football is the ultimate team sport but TO doesn't seem to be on that same page. I can think of multiple of pundits predicitng he would be a curse on the Eagles after they picked him up, I thought he would turn a new leaf in Philly but I was dead wrong. TO worked out with Donvan in the offseason in Arizona and turns on him and treatrs the guy like he's the Akili Smith. The guys you're F'ing teamate who goes into battle with you every weak. I don't think DM's the second coming of Montana, Elway, or Otto Graham but he's your F'ing QB. This is somebody you've run gassers with in 2 a days and practiced your ass off with in the heat of August. Most of all he's your F'ing teamate, he deseveres respect. The not properly celebrating the 100th TD catch is a joke. It's not like TO is a David Terrell/Desmond Howard/Marquis Walker fighting for the respect of everyone as a player. Anyone who knows anything about the NFL knows TO is a talent and respected WR but he acts like a 5th stringer jobber fighting for respect and recongiton.

VH1's behind the music doesn't have anything on TO as far someone destroying themselves with their ego. I really fell ashamed for anyones who has played football because of him. When Ted Ginn takes a kick to the house it's because he had 10 other guys, often unsung, out there blocking for him. TO's me first celebrity/rock star attitude takes away from every teamate who's play made him the "superstar" he is today. To me football is a such a great sport because of the unsung hero who lays it for his team. The wide out blocks downfield to spring an RB, the QB who lays out a block to spring someone, the long snapper who sets up the field goal, the 3rd string senior who blocks on returns, and the dlineman who takes a guard and center so AJ Hawk can make a spectular tackle. Somewhere along the line TO forrgot about all that. I feel sorry for all the unsung efforts the Rob Harley's, Antonio Smiths, and Drew Normans of the world make every game. TO's rock star attitude overshadows all of this to the casual sporting poplace at large. Thiere's probably more than poster on this site who played football who would have given everything he could possibly could to have won the game. TO's attitude takes away from stalk block down field by a WR on a long run, every lineman who's dug deep in the goal line, and every special teamer who's set up glory for someone else.

If Andy Reid wants to maintain any kind of credibility as a head coach, T.O. cannot play for him again. Any GM thinking of trading for him, you would have to weigh his abilities against the TOTAL liability he is in the locker room. I'll never understand why someone with his tremendous physical attributes can't just shut the fuck up and play. He is a tumbling, tumbling dickweed.

How about, "He's MoC with NFL credentials."

Don't know if any of you have seen this as to the reason for TO's suspension.

Eagles | Owens had a Fight with Douglas
Sun, 6 Nov 2005 06:31:31 -0800

Mark Eckel, of the Trenton Times, reports Philadelphia Eagles WR Terrell Owens had a fistfight with former defensive end and current team ambassador Hugh Douglas. The fight occurred in front of several of his teammates. According to one of the sources the Owens-Douglas fight "was like WWE Smackdown." Another source said both men threw at least two punches during the altercation and when it was over Owens challenged QB Donovan McNabb first and then everyone else in the room saying, "You want some. Anyone else want some." The Eagles refused to comment about the situation, other than the statement that revealed Owens' suspension. Owens and Douglas have been at odds since training camp and almost got into an altercation in an elevator at Lehigh University.
