Game Thread THE GAME: tOSU at TSUN, Nov 30 @ 12p ET, ABC

Adds a new meaning to the song:

Fight the team across the field
Show them Ohio's here,
Set the earth reverberating
With a mighty cheer,
Rah! Rah! Rah!
Hit them hard and see how they fall,
Never let that team get the ball,
Hail, hail, the gang's all here,
So let's win that old conference now.

I think people are overreacting somewhat about the defense. Yeah, the defense did not play very well. But at the same time, UM was lying in the weeds waiting for this game. After they lost to MSU, the rest of their conference games leading up to The Game became pretty meaningless. And when the coach has lost the team to some degree, you can't expect them to go out there and play their best every game with nothing really to play for. They got up for the big home game this year against ND - and you saw that UM scored more points against them than anybody else has and ND played a lot of good teams including media darling Stanford now - and clearly in other games like the ones against UConn, Akron, and Nebraska they just weren't playing at the same level offensively and it wasn't because the competition was stiffer in those games. They had their pitchforks sharpened for this one.

That TTUN group just isn't very good. We made them look good. No sugar coating of that is necessary. If we beat Sparty, we are going to play against a team considerably better. I sure hope Coach Meyer is deeply concerned.

Sure! Pull the plug! A lot of people on here saying Luke needs to go but Vrabel stays. I don't think it would go that way. I might be wrong but I think it would go down with him following Luke.
I never heard so much angst over losing an assistant coach... Who isn't producing a top 10 defense..its not like he came in with Urban, he has been recruiting and coaching here for years..

I'm not sugar coating anything. I said the defense didn't play very well. But that UM offense is a good offense when they want to be. You're not accepting the reality of the situation, that that UM offense came to play in some games like today, and they didn't come to play in other games. OSU took their best shot today, many other teams didn't.

I'm accepting the reality that we've made several teams look like they came to play. Their 41 points was less about them being good and more about us being less than good.
