XB1 The Xbox One, AKA The Greatest thing EVER Created (that Haters Gonna Hate)

God invented many screens. Use them for your sake and your marriage.

1) When I have time, I can game without interrupting anything
2) When she watches something I dislike (not common), I can wear headphones and the gaming sounds drown it out.
3) When I want to watch a second football game, I can watch it on my monitor while she watches something on netflix.

- HDTV mounted to wall
- Computer monitor set atop coffee table (easily removed when we have visitors)
- Wall installation for HDMI cords to easily switch inputs (see #3 above)

Win. Win. Win.

It was one of the best investments I made back in the mid 00s. Back then a 27" monitor cost $400-600. These days they can be found for 150-250.
I see you picking up that Bad Company 2 from time to time. Still probably the best Battlefield of all time.

No probably about it. Sadly dice executives keep postponing any hopes of a sequel and twisting the knife with idiocy about not understanding what people liked about the game. :shake:

There is still an active community playing. Such a great blend of skill, teamwork and laid back fun. The new battlefields are just too intense. Very cool but the overboard use of suppression sacrifices fun in exchange for realism and frazzled nerves.

Spot on. I'm on a bit of a hiatus right now from 4. (Madden and all) 64 player conquest was a good idea from the outside, but when it comes to the game itself. It's pure chaos. Rarely an opportunity for a kill streak. I found great joy in driving jeeps on Battlefield 3, pretty sure you were a passenger at one point. But I've amassed nearly 2000 jeep kills, which helps alleviate the frustration aspect.

Removing Black Hawk Helis from Battlefield may have been the most foolish move. That thing was a blast to fly around in.

Can you use the TV functionality without having a Kinect? Would the kinectless version still allow for TV pass through?
Yes, but you would have to use the cable box remote. With the Kinect, you have access to the "One Guide" which is a million times better than Time Warner Cable's cable guide.

Interesting little tidbit, if you still own a 360, you can hook it up to the TV output spot and play 360 within the Xbox One interface. Not so great playing online games, but really enjoyable playing single player/co-op games.

Microsoft's next Xbox One update makes it act more like the 360
We weren't lying in our review when we said that the Xbox One felt like a work in progress. From the sounds of it, though, the system's next update will add features and functionality that frankly should have been in the box last fall. For starters, once the patch rolls out to everyone in October, double-tapping the Guide button on the Xbox One controller will act an awful lot like pressing the Guide button on the Xbox 360 controller does: it'll give options to bring up your friends list, achievements and messages. Finally! The update is also supposed to make recording video without Kinect voice controls a lot easier by letting you save the last 30 seconds of game-video by double-tapping the Guide and then hitting the X button.

That's pretty sick.

BTW, if you guys aren't playing Destiny, you are missing out. One of the best co-op games I've ever played. I just finished the first Raid with a group of my buddies. It took forever, but was still fun.

What level are you? Class? I have many pros and cons with the game so far.
Hunter, 28.

Now that they've updated the engrams to give you at least the level of engram you picked up, it's easier to level the higher rated armor items. Really hoping they add another raid soon.

They gave me Legendary leg armor, a scout, and a sniper for going through the raid.
