Donny- I'm going to be honest with you. You used to amuse the hell out of me on BN... and sometimes you do here too... but this whole "I'm just being a clown" thing is wearing thin... Personally, I don't really have a problem with the content of how you participate but the way you choose to participate. The most obvious example of this is taking umbrage when you get "light hearted" responses when you want something of more substance, but refuse to participate further in the conversation.... (If you give me a "Please Explain" on this, I swear to god, I'll ding you to the stone age.. see the Valentine's day thread). Secondly, a number of the people here were not BN Heritage" folks, so they don't necessarily "Get you"
The second thing I have an issue with, is that when people tell you your threads are stupid... you play dumb. With "Please Explain" or by starting 55 new threads that are similar.... now the thing is... either you really are an idiot or you are just being contrary because you have some sense that you have no obligation to respond to the criticism... be it constructive or not. Now, you don't have an obligation to make a positive contribution any more than anyone else does, but the other posters don't have an obligation to take you seriously or show you respect either. If you want to be a "part of things" here, then that needs to be earned. (Sort of like Mistri's bitching and moaning.... If he were reasonable in his complaints then more people would listen... psychobabble isn't a defense for a thin argument.)
Anyway, I will agree with you that "hate" is far too strong a word to use in a context like this... but on the other hand, you need to wonder why these emotions have been evoked in these people. The assumption that THEY are being juvenile might not be the best approach... maybe you should try to do a better job explaining to us why you post the things you do, or why you're curious about certain things, or a little background about your thought process or whatever. When you ask about used cars, or Valentines day or whatever... most people here... or at least some people... would like to help you out... but its a question of participation...
Anyway... good luck donny... you've dug quite a hole... maybe you should work on digging out of it, instead of worrying about whose dinging you, worry about why... its more than an issue of not liking the content or style...
