I was just watching the White Sox vs the Twins, and Griffey Jr hit his 611th home run (upper deck) about 15 minutes ago. Some idiot caught it and was then persuaded by the morons around him to throw it back.

It baffled me. How many other players have hit 600 home runs? 5. I hate the Cub fans for ever starting this idiotic trend.

Peer pressure can get pretty intense in the stands - but I love that the group of folks encouraging you to throw the ball back is made up entirely of fans who did NOT catch a home run ball.

its expected in the bleachers at wrigley. everywhere else, i'm keeping the ball.
