Tiger Woods (Offical Thread)

Tiger Woods goes winless at 2018 Ryder Cup after singles loss to Jon Rahm

SAINT-QUENTIN-EN-YVELINES, France — Tiger Woods went from the high point of his year to the low point in one week.

After his 2 and 1 loss to Jon Rahm in the Sunday singles, Woods was briefly tied with Phil Mickelson for most Ryder Cup losses in U.S. history at 21 (Mickelson's loss within the hour moved him back to first with 22). It was just his second loss on a Sunday at the biennial event, dropping his record to 4-2-2 in singles and 14-21-3 overall.

Riding into Paris on the high of winning the Tour Championship last week, his first win on the PGA Tour in five years, he'll head back to the States without having scored a point for Team USA.

"Well, it's disappointing because I went 0-4, and that's four points to the European team. And I'm one of the contributing factors to why we lost the Cup, and it's not a lot of fun," Woods said after his match.

"It's frustrating because we came here, I thought we were all playing pretty well, and I just didn't perform at the level that I had been playing, and just got behind early in the matches and never got back."

Woods carded the day's first eagle on the par-5 ninth hole, along with two birdies, 10 pars and four bogeys in 17 holes. Not one of Woods' matches made it the full 18 holes.

Tiger comes from behind on Sunday in a major to win for the first time, and he does it at age 43. Is it the beginning of something new or is it like Jack's win at 46?

Fitting that both came at Augusta.

Augusta is that unique circumstance where if you play well there, you can contend probably until 50, even if you can’t anywhere else. So I’d say 6 wouldn’t be all that surprising after getting 5.

And you thought this could only happen in a Kevin Costner movie:

Tiger Woods hits three in the water, makes 10 on par-3 12th at Masters

Tiger Woods posted his worst score ever on a hole on the PGA Tour Sunday at the Masters with a septuple-bogey 10 on at the par-3 12th.

Woods’ tee shot from 155 yards landed short of the green and spun back into Rae’s Creek. Playing from the drop area, his third shot reached the green but also spun back into the water. Again playing from the drop area, his fifth shot flew the green and landed in the back bunker. From there, he chipped across the green and back into the water. He finally reached the green with his eighth shot and two-putted from 20 feet.
