Dickey and Russel were both 5 star recruits, higher rated than Portis, so the point that elite QBs aren't afraid of competition stands, especially when if he could stand to wait a year.

He's not a lock to UF by any means, espeically with Snead's committment and the fact that Jarred Fayson, another top dual-threat QB out of Florida(ran a 4.32 in a NIKE camp, laser-timed) listing UF as a solid leader. If he does not choose Florida, I hope he goes up north, that way he'll never be in UF's way.

According to a poster on BN $, Tim was on a Florida Sports Talk show this morning and listed Florida, Florida State, Miami, Georgia, and Alabama as his top 5, but he did admit the list changes frequently.

I think that source is wrong, b/c of the fact that UM has not recruited him at all. They are recruiting the kid out of Arkansas. UF, FSU, Bama, USC and Michigan are the schools i see that will get his five official visits. I think UF's chances dwindled with the commitment of Snead out of Texas and with the possibility of Fayson from southern Florida.

He dislikes Urban (or so the RUMOR says) because he dropped the F bomb a few times. If Tim Tebow is not going to go to UF because a coach swore than by all means..go right on up to Michigan. However I don't think anyone would be dumb enough to do something like that so I think Tebow's choice will come down to something else. Hopefully in the end he is a Gator. I think he will be.

Agreed that such will not keep him from UF if he loves it. But it was also his attitude and approach to coaching. But this was just his initial reaction to a different style of coaching, I'm sure he'd get used to it.

You would be surprised at how kids respond to that type of coaching. Tebow is a religious kid(going to do missionary work in the Phillipines i believe) so i am not sure he would be attracted to that type of style.

exactly. There are a number of people out there who think he'd be a florida lock if the coaching style was different.

Us OSU fans are holding out hope that he gets an offer after camp, cuz Tressel's faith will be a huge bonus for our chances. Still a longshot anyway you slice it tho.

I think FSU has an excellent shot b/c of BB's faith, but the speculation has begun as to how long he will coach.

I can see an OSU offer coming soon, heck who hasn't offered this kid.

A darkhorse will be USC though, i would really watch out for them, they seem to be the hot team as of now with recruits.

Urban has just as much faith as Tressel does so in the end that won't be too much of a factor.

I am also not really buying the whole coaching style argument. Meyer is a very demanding coach and he just wants to get the best out of his kids. He did a helluva job with Alex Smith and Tebow would benefit greatly from him. Give me a demanding coach over a lax one who plays nice any day of the week.

Gator, we all have faith as much as Tressel does. The question is faith in what? Tressel believes that Christ Jesus died for his sins and have accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior...is Urban's and Bobby's faith the same? Just because one goes to church does not mean he/she believes the same truth. BTW, Tressel will not use his faith as a selling point to win someone here; he never did and never will! If TT and his family are encouraged by Tressel's character and actions, then that will be a factor in their decision. Will it be TT's biggest factor? I can not answer that for TT. As a believer, I would certainly place a high value on Tressel's faith...especially when I place my own child's life in that person's trust. BTW, having this faith does not make me a better person then you or anyone else, and coach Tressel will tell you the same. It just means that I realize I am a sinner who depends on God's grace alone for the forgiveness of my sins.

He could end up a Buckeye, but OSU has 4 qbs now on their roster and Tebow wants to play right away, so i am not sure how that would work out.

Agreed...with the number of QBs we have offered already and the fact that we are not usually one of the first schools out of hsi mouth, I would call us a real darkhorse at this point. You would ahve to think this kid would be Urban's to lsoe based on all the facts. But, as we all know, recruiting is a tough business and a lot can happen between now and NLOID. Let's see how things pan out...

pastybrutha: What major football team doesn't have 3-4 QBs on roster? And what QB recruit doesn't want to play right away?
