To boo or not to boo - when does it go too far?

Thank god Justin didn't throw a pick and fumble the ball like Smith did. I can only imagine what the booing would have been like if he had made a real mistake rather than a few bad passes.
He would have gotten a whole lot more grief if Haslam hadn't dropped what looked like a sure 'pick-six' on a short out pattern.

And a lot of folks didn't seem to notice that Troy's TD wasn't well thrown, and was tipped by Hoobler.

I'm not playing favorites, just pointing out a couple of things that haven't received much attention. None of the QB's played very well, but as Buckeyes they shouldn't be booed.

I named some of those in my post game thread.

or that troys td pass was very close to being picked off (not nearly as close as the miracle catch and run of troy and teddy last year vs ind)

people never cease to amaze me<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
You would think if your going to boo someone at that game Saturday it would have been mother nature.

Some fans just will not cut Zwick a break, I hope everyone realizes that he had a big part in the bowl game a few months back. They are all Buckeyes, its a spring game....damn.

I agree. Though I thought Smith's TD pass looked pretty good. He just needed another 2 inches to get over Hoobler, and it would have been really pretty. His INT, however, was pretty bad. (No, I'm not booing him, now or ever, for that or any other play.) I can't remember - did Boeckman throw an INT? His TD pass was awesome, but what else did he do? I think he ended with 1.5 yards per pass. Is that right?

Zwick threw some bad passes, and he threw some nice passes that were dropped.

I thought all QBs need to work with all receivers on timing. They'll all be in a groove by the Miami game, and we'll all see people jumping back on the Zwick bandwagon. You'll see....

I don't see that Zwick Bandwagon happening. I don't think there even is one. I think your right in that he will shape himself up and be more ontime with his recievers come Miami. But I don't think anyone will be starting a petition for him as the starter. We will embrace him as we should and hope he gets us the win...then go back to Smith against those longhorns.

I knew I'd seen similar comments somewhere, exhawg! And I wasn't saying that nobody had said anything like that, just that those points hadn't "received much attention".

I was agreeing with your point about Zwick being fortunate not to have actual turnovers from the throws he made. And a possible "pick-six", which your comments didn't mention specifically, would have really aroused some of the "fans" already on his case. I was really highlighting your point.

And the mention about the tipped TD pass thrown by Smith was in your TE comments (in a different thread) , so a casual reader, or someone who hasn't seen the game yet, may not have realized it was a throw by Smith.

This abortion of a thread has me walking on eggs. Now I'm glad I avoided it as long as I did!
