Too Great Expectations; new TEAM (long)

Jax,

So your solution is coming onto the board and whining like a little bitch? You are crying more than Dick Vermeil. If you cannot offer any insight how to fix it, or what we should do, just shut the hell up. Why don't you go and hang out over at Bucknuts if you want to bitch and moan and cry doomsday.

Guess what Jaxbuck, the great thing about this world is that you can stop buying merchandise and attending games if you don't like what is going on. Your logic is so idiotic I don't even know what to say. You are basically stating that you have no idea of how to fix things or what we should do to improve, but due to the fact that you buy a ticket to the game or some clothing your opinion should matter. Keep crying.

Or maybe I could just come on here and be an internet tough guy and insult other posters instead of having a discussion.

Another great thing about this world we live in is everyone has the right to voice their opinions and vent. You in fact have the option to not read my posts or better yet just put me on your "ignore" list. But then again, I'm just an idiot right? It's much better to just call me names and waste space with your bitching about my bitching.

BTW I never said I didn't have an idea or solutions, I was simply pointing out that fans bitch and coaches coach, its not up to fans on a message board to fix anything.

I agree that we all had great expectations coming into this year, but thats Ohio State football. The mistakes that are being made once on the field are bad enough and could be caused by being young, but to make the same mistakes game after game is what gets to me. I heard while listening to the game that the LBs worked all week on covering the TEs and that really worked didn't it.

Jax,

Sorry if I took things the wrong way earlier. I just get irritated when things go wrong and everyone begins to self destruct.

No problem bro- we're all suffering. I was being way too negative. I'm back in my positive place though and starting to think about beating Iowa and saving a season. :wink2:

JaxBuck, I think everybody is just as frustrated as you are and that some major issues on the offensive side for OSU need to be addressed real soon. Particularly with the QB maturity and with the O-line and the lack of sustaining blocks, but there are alot of things to look forward too. You can bet a billion dollars though that one way or another things will change. Look at the Cooper age and even though he consistantly won 9 and 10 games a year. He was so lacking in critical wins and/or winning the "big games" with TSUN. Now where is he ?? Not coaching at OSU. So sooner or later you'll get your wish in that we as fans will either see a change on the feild or off the feild. HAHA I just hope the changes on the field don't take 10 or 11 years like they did for Cooper. We feel your pain brotha Buckye we feel it.

I really don't understand why we cannot produce on offense. I hope we get it fixed fast and thats all I really have to say about it. We cannot continue to coach or play like we have or we will not make a bowl game this year.
I think that we can expect the offense to be better than it is. It has been laughable for the last couple years. Its not a question of youth, we weren't young last year, why were we so horrible then. There is a deep underlying problem with the offense, the more quickly it is replaced, the more quickly the team will heal and become effective again.

ITs been said before Brutus2002, and I agree totally in that its a domino effect that starts at the Offensive line and then closely after that its the QB and the lack of execution and maturity. It starts with the Offensive not sustaining blocks and thus its hard on the RB's and especially on a new QB's trying to learn under extreme pressure. When the O-line comes together (as they did a little more this past game ... a little), then when the QB finds his short routes more and we get more consistent long nice sweet drives. Then you will see a game of it. Until then we as fans agonize.
As for the coaches of the offensive line. They have got to be under extreme pressure to start producing because there is such a good argument that they have not been getting it done these past few years.

Well this domino effect has been here 4 years now. I think pounding a square peg in a round hole needs to be changed. I don't give a shit WTF is wrong but it better change. This team is young but theres too much talent to give me an excuse for us going 6-5 or worse this year. I'm not fucking buying it.

I feel your pain man I feel it BRutus2002, I went to the game with a couple of Wisconsin fans yesterday who happen to be the people who gave me my ticket and also who are relatives, so I feel your pain.
You gotta beleive that there will be some changes somehow someway due to the great under current of concern for the total lack of Offensive line production. I used to try to defend Bollman but now I just don't know how he can not make the adjustments to fix this glaring problems. I honestly think thats where the main problem starts and then after that all things will fall into place and our QB will have more time in the pocket and thus more to build on as a young QB, and then our RB will improve.

BLASPHEME !!! You will be stoned with a hail of Buckeye Nuts for that comment.
hahaha Hey at least we have our Buckeye Nut humor !!!
Ya got to believe things will change one way or another. My only wish and hope for this year is that OSU crushes the TSUN and matures enough to make good showings the rest of this year.

I'm having a hard time defending Bollman myself, but here's whats bothering me.

2001- We could still run the ball with authority. Bently, Jamar Martin and Wells could get it done. See the NU and scUM games.

2002- No problems running the ball untill MoC gets hurt. When he comes back the running game picks back up.

2003- Can't run with a bunch of NFL players along the OL and TE.

2004 ytd- the worst by far. Bunch of young guys who can pass block but not run block...WTF is going on? It should be just the opposite if anything.

There has been success under Bollman and there has been horrific failure as well. The common thread has been NFL caliber talent aplenty. The struggles seem to coincide with none of that talent being in the backfield.

I'm not agreeing with the people who say the scheme/technique he teaches are bad. Wisky does the exact same thing and they have great success with it. I think his teaching methods are probably for shit because the execution just isn't there.

All in all I say if this trend continues, changes need to be made on the offensive coaching staff this off season. OSU being among the bottom 20-30 offensive teams in football for two years running is just unacceptable but I'm still not sure it's all Bollmans fault.

Am I the only one that thinks Wisconsin looks a lot like 2002 Ohio State? Losing to Northwestern was pretty bad...but losing this game wasn't. That's the #1 defense in the country folks. And that's also one of the best running games in the country. We made Stucco beat us. If we don't get assraped by bad calls, then we are right in the game until the end. What do you want Tressel to do? Go out there and run the ball himself? We can't run the football...the only time we could all day was a statue of liberty play, at least that is what it looked like from B deck...i was fooled by it. We put all this pressure on Zwick...who was having a really solid game until we got behind...and then get pissed when he doesn't lead us back...even though he did everything he could last week to lead us back. The defense and running game are putting Zwick in a pretty bad situation. Maybe it's the coaching staff's fault for not having a better scheme to run the ball. Something is wrong with the rushing offense. It's one of the worst in the country. I'm not sold on putting all the blame on Justin Zwick. He's stopped turning the ball over, and has actually been put in a lot more "MUST PASS" situations. Put it on the running game, or the coaches. But I can't lose faith in Jim Tressel after two games. He's a winner...and those of you that don't see that must be blind. He's always been a winner at every level. The changes he has brought about since he came to Ohio State have been great. I don't care if he has been using "John Cooper's" players for the past two years...we all know Cooper wouldn't have done what Tressel did with them. Nobody likes losing, but I don't think the problem is JT and JZ.
