tOSU +5.5 at Duke (ov/un 142.5) Wed 9:30 ESPN

What concerns me the most looking at this game is the play of our big men. For some reason I dont fell that Matta and the coaches are not at their best in coaching, or bringing along, the centers they get. I think that the area of play we have been the weakest at is the Center postion, from a coached standpoint.
I know guys have come in here and played their talent into the position but I think we have not seen much from the coaches in developing their talents further.
Why can't we get a center that plays like the ones dook or NC get?
Dont matter as long as we win with what we have.
This is just some thoughts I have had over matta's coaching tenure.
Be that as it may, if wee get a good game out of Craft and Thomas we still need someone else to step up in this game if we want to win and I dont see it coming from Rav or Amir.

Dukie V chimes in, says he gives a slight edge to Duke, because "Cameron Crazies, the development of Cook, and the three veterans - winning experience when you look at guys like Plumlee, Kelly, and certainly you look at the shooting ability of Curry"

So aside from the Cameron Crazies, there isn't a real reason to give Duke an edge, he just ignored the ways OSU was equal to Duke in the other categories. If you paid attention to OSU at all, you would recognize the development of Scott, he just hasn't played as much as Cook for Duke because OSU has a deeper team than Duke. Then the more ridiculous point, that Plumlee, Kelly and Curry have winning experience, as if the OSU players don't? Craft, Smith and Thomas starting on a Final Four team don't have winning experience? It's possible that the homecourt advantage will make the difference, but you have to leave it at that because there's no discernible advantage Duke has in terms of player development or winning experience or even shooting.
For the first time in my life, I think DV might be onto something unfortunately. I know that most of the guys that played in hostile environments before but it is difficult to not get caught up into the Cameron atmosphere for a visiting team. I also think that we do not have much of a inside presence which could hurt us especially our free-throw shooting from the 5 position. Those points due add up.

The Cameron indoor advantage isn't all the fans...the refs get caught up in that arena all the time. The differential of home vs. away foul discrepancy for Duke has been pretty staggering...at least when I was at FSU it was huge.

Craft does a really good job showing his hands to the ref. It really depends on how much they let him get away with his lower body. Instead of reaching he bodies opponents which is let go most of the time unless it's egregious.

this is my primary concern tonight

OSU's physical B1G style of defense, Duke flopping all over the place and lots of foul trouble.
