tOSU -5.5 at Minnesota (ov/un 135.5) Sun 2 ET, ESPN

So we only have to really win 2 more games to clinch the Big10, @ Wisconsin and @ Purdue. Both extremely tough games and total tourney preparation games.

Take the week and get your conditioning ready boys. Lets go get some Badger on Saturday!
Whoa.... BB73 FAST with the payout today!
I was able to do it with 58 seconds left. The cover was safe, Sully, Lighty, Buford and the over were hit, Diebs had his 3s, Craft had fouled out, and nobody bet on Dallas so if he got a couple blocks in the last minute it wouldn't have mattered.

Stat of the day for me:
1 - combined offensive rebounds for Mbakwe, Sampson, and Iverson
8 - offensive boards for Sullinger

Phenomenal. Sullinger played like a man possessed today. (Unfortunately, on the FT line, the possession seemed to be by Dallas Lauderdale ...)

My stat of the day: Buckeyes had 71 field goal attempts; Minnesota had 49.

38-2. That is impressive.
Post WVU game last year. Following that game, OSU finished the season 15-2 with the two losses being by 3 points to #4 Purdue and by 3 points to Tennessee in a game the Bucks had the lead with a minute to play.

Now 39-2.

Dallas Lauderdale said the Buckeyes have lacked intensity at the start of the second half, and that not letting it happen again was at the root of their 11-2 run after Minnesota had closed within five points in the first 63 seconds of the second half.

"We always come out and give a team hope and give a team time to get back in the game," he said. "We didn?t want to do that today, so we just came out strong."

Lauderdale scored eight of his 10 points in the first four minutes of the second half as Minnesota went with man-to-man defense after its zone had held Ohio State to 10 points the last eight minutes of the first half.

Smith didn't say why he chose to open with man-to-man -- only why he did not revert to the zone after he did.

"We made some bad decisions about when to trap and when we were trying to switch," he said. "Then when you get behind, it?s hard to go to the zone. They went on a run there . . . then you're in retreat mode."

The switches the Gophers messed up gave Lauderdale his scoring opportunities.

"It looked like he got behind the defense there and guys did a pretty good job getting inside and finding him there," Matta said.

Ohio State's 22 offensive rebounds were its most in a Big Ten game since it had 22 against Northwestern in 2003. The Buckeyes had 30 offensive rebounds in this season's opener against North Carolina A&T.

"That was one thing we had pointed to going into the game. We thought we could get inside there a little bit because they go to block shots and it opens up some avenues," Matta said.

If only Diebler wasn't called for that foul when he poked the ball away and was going in for a layup when they were up 2 with 2 minutes to go ...
