tOSU at Purdue, Sat. 10/14, 12pm ET, Peacock

Sportsurge
Can also get a free trial and just watch it directly on the Peacock app. I hate the trend of spreading games out to so many platforms, but it is what it is. I have had Peacock for awhile now, pretty decent price for the variety of TV/movies you get on there...depends on what you are into, but I am a big fan of it.

As to the game itself, it should be a stomping. This Purdue team is the worst I can remember seeing tbh. I hope the OL can take a step forward and I want to see Montgomery at one of the OT spots get a ton of reps and same for Vimahi inside. The entire OL should feel like they are on the hot seat and have their starting spots on the line, plus we just need to have experience in the two deep.

No free trial anymore, but apparently as a Spectrum Internet and TV subscriber I can get a free subscription. Will be checking that out for sure.

Hmm well I guess I have had a subscription for awhile and didn't realize they got rid of the free trial, they used to do like 30-60 free days. Seems like a stupid move by Peacock because people will just find another way for 1-2 games a year if they don't care about the other programs on the app. Guess I will let all my local Buckeye fans they have an invite to the house to watch if they don't have Peacock.

I don't remember a single time we played @ Purdue with the sun in the sky. I'm sure it has happened but it is truly the most wicked damn place a Buckeye can travel to. Same for the stupid hoops games there.

Maybe 2013. Every other time it's like Poltergeist. OSU fans grab the closest Purdue official and say

Buckeyes open as three-score favorite at Purdue

Now for the second straight week, the Buckeyes are yet again a three-score favorite, this time on the road at a venue that has been a house of horrors for the Ohio State program. Ohio State opened this week as a 20.5-point favorite for its road matchup Saturday against Purdue, which is set for a Noon kickoff on Peacock.

The total is set at a low 51.5-point number. It’s the lowest total set on a Buckeyes game since last October when they faced Iowa at home. The total in that game was 50, and the Buckeyes scored 54 points themselves.

.
.
This is the first time Ohio State will play at Purdue since 2018, when it was a 14-point road favorite and was destroyed by the Boilermakers in a 49-20 upset loss.

Very few of the players from that 2018 Buckeyes team remain with the program. It was five years ago, after all. But there are still a few who remember that night in West Lafayette. Buckeyes starting safety Josh Proctor is among them, and he’s excited to get back to Northwest Indiana and take on the Purdue team that derailed the Buckeyes national title hopes in 2018.

“It means a lot,” Proctor said. “It means a lot. I haven’t ben back since, so I’m definitely looking forward to that.”

20.5 points in that place, given the 21st century history, I'll pass. I really only bet Buckeye games when we're 'dogs, and on the ML. The last thing I want to be doing late in an OSU win is sweat over whether they cover the spread, or not. I don't need that to enjoy a win.

There are plenty of IDGAF games to bet on.

Weather looking suspect for Saturday. Favors the team that can run the ball. :scared:

They have a kid named Tracy that transferred from Iowa who is averaging over 6.5 ypa in the two years he's been at Purdue.

At this point, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they can't just line up and run/stop the run better than us if the weather doesn't let us pass. It's gotten to that point.

Since (and including) 2001, Ohio State is 9-4 against Purdue. The 0.692 win percentage against Purdue is the worst record Ohio State has against any other Big Ten team. Wisconsin is second with a 13-4 record (0.765), then Penn State (17-5, 0.773), and Iowa (7-2, 0.778).

Get in and out with a win and start working on the next game. I'm with you - don't worry about the spread.

Does anybody remember (other than my fuzzy brain) that Purdue has more wins over tOSU in the past several decades (including TSUN) than any other school? Seem to remember some talking head noting that Purdon't has jammed us at some inopportune times (and don't include the Holy Buckeye catch in 2014) either. Know there's better Buckeye historians, so willing to get 'educated' if not true. However, PU seems to rise up to the occasion for tOSU anyway. With Penn St week after, hopefully tend to practice things like OL play, red zone scoring, blocking, tackling etc , instead of looking forward. Go Bucks!

Holy Buckeye was 2002. And I think Birm mentioned it on the Rooster podcast w Austin Ward.
