tOSU at Rutgers, Oct 2nd, 3:30 ET on BTN

What’s Going To Happen
Lost in the narrative of Ohio State struggling on defense and being relatively down compared to the last few years is one way key element …

The offense is TOTALLY working. Ohio State is second in the nation in total O averaging way over 500 yards per game.

Yeah, Stroud missed some receivers here and there in the first few games, and he wasn’t razor-sharp for stretches against Oregon, and the offensive line isn’t consistent and the team is steady pumping out tons and tons of yards.

Before you blow that off in any way, ask Clemson what it’s like to reload the offense. Check with Oklahoma to see how that thing is working. With that said, be very, very careful here.

Rutgers doesn’t have enough in the bag to win unless there’s a total Buckeye meltdown. There have to be at least four Scarlet Knight takeaways, the red zone D has to be air tight, and everything has to go right when it comes to ball control.

That’s all not going to happen, but a 21-point Ohio State second half explosion will to finally be able to breathe easier.

Ohio State vs Rutgers Prediction, Line
Ohio State 34, Rutgers 17

I think Day and the Offense knows now they can’t throw away possessions. Need to be ready at the KO to go.

WATCH: Buckeye Players Preview Rutgers

DT Jerron Cage

+ He is picking up on tendencies of offenses so that he can play faster.
+ The interior defensive line keeps track of sacks and it’s a fun competition they play with the defensive ends.

RB TreVeyon Henderson

+ On his list of goals, Henderson said he doesn’t want to put it out there.
+ The other running backs in the room taught him a lot. Being under Master Teague’s wings taught him a lot about the speed of the game and the players he goes up against.
+ On his choice to be a finance major, Henderson said he was little he always thought about money. Not growing up from much and having the drive to make money, he knew he wanted to work in that industry. He has read a lot of books and has invested in stocks.

SAF Lathan Ransom

+ “The Buckeyes need to show up and play everyone the same way,” no matter who they are playing.
+ On his role changing when Josh Proctor went down, Ransom said they were moving people around to try and get the best matchups each week.

Give me a break with this superficial "analysis" that just looks at box scores and that's it. The offense was atrocious at finishing drives in the Oregon game and completely out of sync against Tulsa. Akron's so bad that there's nothing to really take away from it. That is not "TOTALLY" working. There are still major QB issues.

I wouldn't say major issues...

I think we will be surprised by this offense this weekend. We are a better team now that we are rolling with Trey the majority of the time and I think this will help our QBs with play action even more so now..

I think we'll get to 500+ yards and 40 points personally.
