tOSU Recruiting Discussion

I was looking at the 2014 scholarship offers list and noticed that this early, there are only 3 players offered from the state of Ohio at this time. Unbelievable how national Urban is recruiting!

Very few local sophomores get offers until their junior season under Urban or JT.

Some have bought into the "Urban abandoning Ohio" fantasy that the scUMers are espousing.
Urban's "net" is just bigger. :tongue2:
Logically, we should be recruitng Florida,Georgia, Texas and even Cali, more.

I read on 11w that he "grew up in a town of 5,000 and Columbus wasn't his type of place." He's from WV.

It seems like there's more to it though, IMO.

But if we end up with a class of Booker, Garrett, & McMillan no one will even remember him.

2014 QBs wing it in the 'Shoe
Barker, Duckworth, Henderson, Kizer aim for offers at Friday Night Lights
Updated: July 28, 2012

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Coming into Ohio State's first Friday Night Lights camp, the buzz wasn't about who was there. It was about who was next at quarterback.

With a quarterback already committed in the 2013 class in J.T. Barrett (Wichita Falls, Texas/Rider), the Buckeyes were looking to 2014 and wanted to see what players such as Caleb Henderson (Alexandria, Va./West Potomac), Joey Duckworth (Louisville, Ohio/Louisville), Drew Barker (Hebron, Ky./Conner) and DeShone Kizer (Toledo, Ohio/Central Catholic) could bring to the table.

It turns out a lot as all four slinged it at the Horseshoe in front of Ohio State coach Urban Meyer, his assistants and about 1,000 people on Friday night.
