tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Is it logical to think that with all the high quality talent being brought in that the trend of guys being "over-recruited', passed by more talented young players coming in will slow?
I feel bad for the kids who end up leaving because they get passed by a more talented player.
If you bring in great talent, someone has to sit. It might be the decorated recruit or the sleeper.

I don't like roster management but it's how business is done these days.

I think they will see how the visit with Martin goes tomorrow. If he says he is visiting Michigan (or anywhere else) this weekend, then you may see them try to get Gardiner on campus. He is not going to be a Mizzou commit for long...Herman and and Longhorns have offered and he is trending that way.

They are losing 5 correct, Samuel, Brown, Wilson, Smith, and Stump?

Samuel, Brown, Wilson, Smith and Gibson, so 5 for sure.

Johnny Dixon told one of the cleveland.com reporters "I'm going to be playing football next year, I'm just not sure where.", so you can deduce what you want to from that. On top of that, you have transfer rumors surrounding both Stump and Clark that have yet to be squashed even though it would easy to do (a la Joey Burrow). Worst case scenario (and what's looking more likely by the day), the position group will look like this next year:

H:
Glover-Williams - Jr.
McCall - So.

WR:
Victor - So.
Hill - So. (RS)
Campbell - Jr. (RS)
McLaurin - Jr. (RS)
Mack - So.
Grimes - Fr.
Harris - Fr.
White - Fr.

That's a talented group, but we need more bodies. If those who are rumored to be out do leave, then I think we should take 2 more WRs this cycle, with the assumption that White will most likely end up back at LB long term.

White is legit at WR. And I think just 1 more WR is fine. Just continue to fill in with next cycle.
