I'm not going to flood the thread with a whole new class prediction...I have one of Willor or Amaris Williams in this class. I truly have no preference, very similar players from measurables to game tape. Either fits well at DE for us. Then add a guy like Warner (Kansas commit) and we will be good to go at DE. At DT, I am more than happy with Scott and Mensah to follow up on last year's class.

Its being said that Warner is the reason that Pickett was never pursued harder(you can probably throw Elias Rudolph in that convo too). Staff was concerned about the guys being too skinny, and more of a tweener than a true DL

New On3 Industry rankings for the pertinent OSU recruits and comments where applicable:

1. WR Jeremiah Smith 5*
11. DT Justin Scott 5*

15. OL Jordan Seaton 5*
18. WR Mylan Graham 5*
23. DE Eddrick Houston 5*
32. QB Air Noland 5*
41. CB Aaron Scott 4* (the rest below are all 4* from #41-#351)

50. DE Marquise Lightfoot (only putting him here in case he opens it back up, though I think Amaris Williams is the target)
63. CB Bryce West
70. WR Jeremiah McClellan (nice and well-deserved jump for him)
100. RB James Peoples (too low, but I get it since he just started playing again)

111. DE Amaris Williams (hopefully this turns to scarlet font soon)
131. LB Garrett Stover
140. DE Ernest Willor
153. OL Ian Moore (not really sure why he isn't consensus top 100, he is there for me)
157. RB Jordan Lyle (extremely underrated imo if you watch his film from this season)
226. LB Payton Pierce (feel that is too low, but not worried about it...he will be a stud)
289. TE Max LeBlanc
327. S Jaylen McClain (another I would expect to rise in the ratings with his senior film thus far)
351. CB Miles Lockhard (kind of a head scratcher, figured he would be top 200-250)
441. OL Deontae Armstrong 3* (the rest are from here on out)
465. TE Demarion Witten (criminally underrated, watch his film from this season)
494. OL Devontae Armstrong
524. ATH Sam Williams-Dixon
905. DT Eric Mensah
1190. S Leroy Roker

#2 class overall only behind UGA.

Buckeye Nation whines about the lack of certain position recruiting, then Pnut shows us that tOSU is doing pretty darn well in the 5* trough. True dat, but of course we want more (and at different positions). We are certainly spoiled, and all in all have the #2 recruiting class in the country. Guess we won't be happy until we have at least one 5* at every position group. Could say more, but won't. Go Bucks!

One at every position group? You truly underestimate (a vocal portion of) Buckeye Nation. They won't be happy until we have 85 5* recruits, including punter, kicker, and that elusive 5* long snapper.
OK, I exaggerate. They'd probably be happy if the long snapper was only a high 4*.

I don't think it would help. Hartline gets WRs because he was a technician at the position. He can't offer that to OL recruits.
That helps a ton! Also, Hartline knew he wanted to be a coach while still playing, its ben on record that Hartline would visit local HSs when he played for the Dolphins. So it shouldn’t be a surprise why he gets so much love from that region. I even think he gave some of the So FL Express 7 on 7 teams tickets to Dolphins Games when he was in Miami. That’s paying off now. It also helped, that Hartline’s predecessor was also a big time recruiter in FL. As much as we want to laugh at ZS, he was a heck of a recruiter and developer of WRs, and at times I miss his rotations going 6 deep, so guys stayed fresh.

Re Hartline offering OL recruits. He could point to the last two (Johnson and Dawand) becoming instant starters in the NFL, one a 5* and another a 3*, but would be sucking wind looking at the current starters for the Buckeyes. The current crop are adequate at best, with more leaks than not, and with Coach Day saying 'there's no OL guys that are close to playing' (or some such), doesn't speak highly of Frye's coaching up abilities. I certainly get that the OL needs to keep their guys in 'to develop chemistry', but simply cannot fathom that there is that much a disparity there. Maybe I listen to the talking heads, that are paid to paint rosy pictures. Anyway, we NEED a Seaton, or a Baker to come in and play. Heck, our two best OL guys will be leaving after this year. Then what, the portal? Go Bucks!
