Game Thread tOSU @ Rutgers, Sat 10/24 @ 8pm ET, ABC

Whole fam will be there... OSU and Rutgers grads alike
Couple are in great seats.. couple are in season-ticket OK seats.. rest of us are in the sky boxes... well, not really sky boxes.. but far enuf up there.. we'll be touching the sky

The MAJOR dilemma.. what to wear...
Obviously the grads will wear their own apparel... rest of us will probably go neutral so we don't upset things... cheering also becomes a problem...

We all know what's gonna happen... but Rutgers-grad daughter is a die hard and a lovely gal.. we won't upset her
she wears OSU gear more often than Rutgers.. but it's game day

Love watching Rutgers.. bunch of undersized, extremely fast kids that are all heart
Knights will play well in spurts but the size and strength advantage will play out
By mid Q3 and rest of Q4, it could get ugly

We have closets of OSU gear and closets of Rutgers gear

If Caroo is out; game is over.. he's very dangerous; he'll be hell for our DBs.. tall, strong and catches everything near him
Sprained his ankle last week (I think 4 TDs) or he'd be the best WR we've seen this year or may see all year.. MT tier

ST will be interesting... they block kicks regularly and their returner is electric; most teams kick away from him or pay for it
Kickers are OK

Rutgers lines will be severly undersized.. but DL is very quick and sneaky
Granted they've not faced a Zeke but they have shut down everyone's running game
Their DBs are unpredictable (red shirt frosh)... cuz 3 of the original 4 starters are in jail
the replacements are coming along... they're small/short, very fast but they're not in sync

RBs aren't bad.. they use 4 of them... small fellas but good; no hammers
Other WRs will drop easy catches; TEs are good
QB will inevitably throw really dumb interceptions.. especially at critical times
LBs are very active and good tacklers

My feeling is this is going to be a very tough game for Ohio state. In fact if they don't come out firing on all cylinders from the get go, they might drop this one.
I actually feel the opposite. Plunger game, particularly if JT starts as we will controll the LOS all night and as stated Caroo may be iffy. So long as we don't turn the ball over it'll go a lot like last year IMO.

No offense NJ but where are you getting the part about them shutting down the run?

Rutgers is #30 in rush defense. Game-by-game rushing yards allowed:

Norfolk State (FCS): -3
Washington State: 81 (Wazzu also had 478 yards passing)
Penn State: 330
Kansas: 64
Michigan State: 132 (MSU also had 357 yards passing)
Indiana: 163 (Indiana also had 464 yards passing)

Aside from a crappy FCS team and a really shitty Kansas team, they really didn't much against the run seeing as all of their other opponents, save PSU, passed the shit out of them...and that PSU team that did run a lot ran for 330 yards. They gave up 559 yards total to Wazzu, 471 to PSU, 479 to MSU, and 627 to Indiana. If our offense plays like we did under JT in the second and fourth quarters against PSU, I can see 50+ points and 600+ yards (had 56 points and 585 yards last year).

The almost beat msu and just beat Indiana who we barely squeezed by and coming in a high note, in their house, at night. Perry is out and our D shows a different weakness every week. Our O has a couple of misfires and we are in a fight.
