Game Thread tOSU vs. Sparty, Sat 11/21, 3:30pm ET, ABC

Yeah. Top Ten.
That's, like, your opinion man. But seriously, if you think msu sans cook is a top 10 team you're just too drunk right now. They needed a 130 yard shit show of an offense to squeak out a win. If you put OSU's offensive output 100% on msu's defense and none on the playcalling, then you're crazy imo.

Edit: to clarify, I'm saying msu w/o cook isn't top 10. With him they are. If that was the confusion.

Play calling and quarterback coaching. I think we really miss this guy:

Also give some credit to this guy too. Offensively MSU played a good game (especially considering they had a 2nd string QB) and their O-line was definitely up to the task:

To be clear, when I said Elliott should be careful about what he says in public it wasn't because I think he doesn't have the right to do it, it's because he doesn't deserve to have everything he's accomplished overshadowed by clowns on the internet calling him a "fucking baby" and giving him the "shut up and stick to sports" treatment.
Well, it is sports, in this case

But yes, for him this is not the way to go out, especially if it changes the way his number is called next week

The former is a proven commodity who has had substantial success at multiple stops and has been an amazing OL coach every year that he has focused solely on that while at OSU. I hope he stays for another decade as the OL coach only. The latter doesn't have that track record of success elsewhere or at OSU and should be cut loose.
Agreed. Keep Ed but demote him back to OL coach. Let him keep the Co-OC title if he once. He may not be a good OC but he's put out some of the most dominant OL's Ohio State has ever had. Get rid of Beck tomorrow.

Obviously, Beck is easy to point the finger at; but Urban is signing off on the game plans and play calling (I would assume). Could it be (especially having been in the position of defending a national championship before) that he has been hoping to out talent everyone and just get to the playoffs? Game plans have been mind boggling all season. Yes, the OB's showed no growth (and that is seemingly on Beck) but this team has been frustrating all season. I'm not sold Herman made that big of a difference (especially after his loss to UCONN). Maybe he did. Maybe Urban doesn't have quite the fire he once had (and after three NC's who could blame him). It just seems like a lot of proven talent on offense was squandered this year and I can't say that all falls on Beck's (or Warinner's) shoulders.

Or is it just really that hard to get a team motivated for a repeat run?

Eh, fuck TSUN.
