Game Thread tOSU vs. Virginia Tech, Sept 6th @ 8pm ET, ESPN & ESPN3 Skycam

That 'D' only works against a rookie QB, a weak Oline and an offensive coordinator picking his nose.

I'd love to see the numbers, but I can't remember seeing a defense send 5 + more in any game. I'd wager it was 75% of the downs. And only 2-3 3rd downs did foster not blitz. Although god only knows why not?!? I assume his headset must have malfunctioned.

They sent 3 pressures from the boundary in a row on that last drive because... Why not? Go figure when we get to the other hash, another blitz from the boundary. I know I wasn't the only one screaming it.

It wasn't even good heads up blitzing. Those DB's screamed off the edge with no regard for anything behind them or in front of them other than the QB.

It's mind belong that Herman can't see that from the box.

Michigan State 2011 is my guess.

Was thinking that the whole game.
I know the coaches know more than us but when a 28 year old kid (me) and my Father are wondering why we don't A) Throw a screen, B) run a draw or C) run power on them it just amazes me. I know they're good at what they do by god damn it's not rocket science. Can't protect the QB? lets see.... I got it lets run a 7 step drop and let him scan the field!!

The losses are never easy. I'm generally a pretty grumpy person when the Buckeyes lose. Actually, it used to be pretty bad. The Buckeyes mean a lot to myself (and my dad, much of what a huge bond in our relationship takes place over). Some losses are easier than others. This one...despite a belief and hope, I felt pretty resigned too throughout the game.

Just don't want losses to ever become too easy to deal with. This is Ohio State. Though it didn't feel like it tonight.

Can anyone who follows CFB recruiting tell me if there are any long-term concerns going forward? I kind of expected OSU to be looking at some National Championships by this point in Urban's tenure. I understand the tattoo scandal set us back with that, but we really haven't come close. We would've walloped Notre Dame had we been eligible the year they were whooped by Alabama, but it's not like ND was any good that year. And even if we had beaten MSU last year we would've been handled by Florida State. I just expected things to come together a little sooner. Was that unreasonable? Or is it going to happen next year/next few years?

I know I'm forever the optimist. I know this.

I'm still screaming one loss this year. If this game felt like an ass whoopin, that's because it should have been. But it wasn't. What I saw thru two black eyes was a team that didn't give up. Wait...I saw a team that never fucking considered giving up. That's encouraging to me. Losses suck. They happen tho. Far more often than we'd like to be sure, but giving up is a choice. Those black hearted bastards chose to bust their fucking humps til the end, and I can't ask for more than that. And I'm grateful I get to watch another year of tough sonsabitches grow and learn and see what they can accomplish when they get it all right.

GO BUCKS
