UEFA Champions League (Official Thread)

When is Fox going to be showing everything in HD? Now that they're getting Setanta's programming rights, it really needs to happen.
+mucho - even more frustrating is that they run ads about their HD content during some games...
Fox has the HD rights to EPL, Serie A, MLS, UEFA, and the FA Cup. They're broadcasting all of those matches in HD now. The problem is that not many carriers have FSC HD yet. Dish Network started showing FSC HD on Feb 10. They're the only provider, that I know of, that is carrying FSC HD. I have Time Warner. So no HD for me yet. The only good thing about this is that the SD broadcasts are crisper than they used to be.

Also, when Fox Soccer Plus takes over for Setanta, on March 1, that channel will also broadcast in HD, but I read on epltalk that it is unlikely that DirecTV will carry that in HD starting March 1.

CSKA Moscow v Sevilla ended 1-1 with goals from Negredo, who gave Sevilla an away goal on 25 minutes, and Mark Gonzalez's stunning pile driver from 25 yards out leveled the score.

Subs: Hilario, Joe Cole, Sturridge, Alex, Belletti, Bruma, Borini.

Did anyone see why Cech went off early?

Sky Sports
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has revealed Petr Cech sustained a calf injury in the defeat to Inter Milan, but he is not sure how long he will be out for.
The goalkeeper collapsed on the hour mark of the UEFA Champions League tie at the Giuseppe Meazza after rolling the ball out and had to be stretchered off.
There was nobody around the Czech Republic international when the incident occurred and initial reports suggested the shot-stopper had suffered a serious knee injury, which would have meant a long lay-off.

For those of you interested in the Europa League Round of 32 results....

Big surprise with Roma being knocked out by Panathinaikos 6-4 on aggregate.

Other results thus far.....

Fulham held on with 10-men (Danny Murphy sent off) to beat Shakhtar Donetsk 3-2 on aggregate after a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Liverpool thrashed FC Unirea Urziceni 3-1 away from home and 4-1 on aggregate. (Report from UEFA.com)

So Europa finished today's play, and now we're down to 16. Was surprised to see Sporting Lisbon wipe out Everton, and the same for Wolfsburg over Villarreal. Kazan looks tough at home. Juventus made it through, and Werder and Valencia will be a tough draw as well. Anderlecht and Benfica look good. Was surprised to see Roma and PSV go out. Liverpool and Fulham survived to represent England, and Madrid squeaked past Galatasaray.
