(unofficial) Rose Bowl thread - USC vs. Texas (merged)

I don't know who precisely was in the gaem for Texas on the Lendale white stop on 4th down...

For the record Huff made the tackle, and he wasn't supposed to be near the line of scrimmage. It was a case of a great player making a great play, worthy of the defensive MVP award he received. Even so,Texas was stronger at the ends of both haves so your observation is correct and appreciated.

After being on the USC boards trying to discuss the game, I can't tell you how much I appreciate the knowledgable posters on buckeyeplanet. We may disagree on points, but at least Buckeye fans understand the game. It is also hard to tell which opponent was tougher.

I am really looking forward to the rematch in Austin, hopefully with Vince still around.

The rumor out here in Southern California is Reggie Bush was on the take, I dunno but he sure looked tentative running the ball and the fumble was retarded. On the way to work on a local radio show is where I heard it. Remember I,m the messenger not the source. :wink2:

edit: dang, xray beat me to it. Huff was an absolute stud. One-handing Byrd to the ground (who was dragging 3 tacklers forward all day), stuffing white on 4th...

That mvp hardware is way too puny tho :)

Not bazookaing the messenger...but in general, why in the blue hell would he of all people be on the take? He's gonna probably get 50 mil after the draft.

Hellooooo!!! He HAD to be on the take. So were the refs. That is the only way that anyone could have possibly beaten "THE GREATEST TEAM EVER". :roll1:

The one thing that dissapointed me was VY after the game winning TD.

He TOTALLY should have done the Heisman pose. That would have been awesome. He IS the best player in college football. Another reason why the Heisman should be after the bowls.

He would have gotten flagged 15 yards, and they still had to kickoff. I know what you mean, but he was very smart not to.

he just postponed that, after the game was over he went to the game day desk and stood behind corse, herbstreet, and fowler and did they pose while chanting, " Whose the Heisman"

maybe not the classiest move, but i enjoied it

Well, he took his team to victory, something the TWO Heisman winners on the other side couldn't do...

You dominate a game like that to win the NC and you can do all the poses you want IMO
