Urban F. Meyer (Former OSU, CFB and NFL coach)

Been saying this with friends at work for weeks now.. the parsing out of Urban's behavior on the sidelines this season is just ridiculous.

Here's Urban after losing to Sparty in the 2013 B1G championship:

He would buck up and go on to coach in 2014 and beyond

Here is Urban Meyer, visibly un-engaged, distant and otherwise worn out after beating Michigan:

And, yeah... he's never dared to show emotion on the sidelines before...

And, of course, his cyst never bothered him before this year:

Engagement seems like a positive thing. That said, he seems to not be able to or not be willing to grind on the details of "coaching the coaches" this season. I haven't paid much attention to his press conferences, but I don't seem to be hearing anything about "nine units strong" or specific X's and O's explanations for shortcomings (i.e., "so and so lost outside leverage" as opposed to "we had a good week of practice but just didn't tackle") or anything that suggests that he's focused enough to hold anyone accountable for anything.

I don't think we need sources to judge demeanor. Something is changed with Urban. You can see it on the sidelines, you can see it when he stands away from the team and you can hear it in his voice.
I do believe he is experiencing some health issues. I also believe the Zach Smith saga took a great toll on Coach as well.

Sure, we're 10-1 but it's mainly about the way we've been winning games. Seasons like this drag on and you have this feeling the ball will drop eventually. Be it against scUM or in the bowl game, what makes the difference
between a 10-1 squad and a 9-2 is how the team develops over the course of the season. If we took an early loss or so but started playing much more sound, most importantly defensively, you would have this feeling of increasing
optimism. Remember 2005? Dropped early to Texas in a close one, Troy comes in full time, we struggle a bit. Then we have the bottom vs Penn State. Afterwards the offense begins to gel, things look up, there is excitement for The Game and before you know it we're pumped for the Fiesta Bowl. This is like that but in reverse.

Now we're left with what feels a bit like impending doom.

edit: I don't like this kind of speculation, I really don't. But this does feel a bit different than in times past with Urban suffering a letdown.
