Urban F. Meyer (Former OSU, CFB and NFL coach)

I just haven’t seen this “different” urban some are seeing. Maybe I’m not watching close enough but I thinks it’s made up BS to get viewers.

I just don’t see him hanging it up yet. Maybe it’s my wishful thinking because it will be a sad damn day in OSU land when he does.
Spoken like a man who hasn't been looking for the reason urban hangs it up since the suspension...

The only thing I’ve noticed that would be the slightest indication that might be considering retirement is that he’s not recruiting with the same fire and intensity this year since he came back from suspension.

His sideline demeanor is pretty typical so I have no idea why people are reading into that.

It’s the recruiting part that has me mildly thinking he’s done. Urban has always recruited like a mad man. Just not seeing that this year.

He looks pissed off because he went through a huge scandal that nearly cost him his job and his team isn't playing nearly as well as he thinks they should.

I'm sure he has a timetable for retiring but I doubt he chooses to hang it up after a year of underperformance just so he can pace his house and wonder what could've been.

If so, god bless, he and his family know best. Just think he goes out on his own terms in ~5 years.

The sideline demeanor I have noticed different is his bent over by himself when the team is in a huddle. Old urban would have been in the huddle even he wasn't addressing the team for suggestions or jut in general firing people up. Some of the times he hasn't looked himself when he fell etc. But most of the gesturing and the pained expressions are pretty normal for him

Maybe not a great reference, but...

I thought, for a second, I was in the Zach Smith thread... in which case, it apparently might have been a perfect reference.

At this point you think about the rest of your grandchildrens' lives.

Dunno man. I don’t know anyone at the top of their games without some narcissistic tendencies. And narcissists don’t think about things like that.

And that’s said with all respect intended. It’s just a personality trait common among high performing individuals.

I agree with that as well, my comment was just that money is still a compelling factor no matter how much you have.
