Phil bogeys....now -3...1 shot behind Glover

I saw a different side of Mickelson after his last bogey. I mention this because I am not sure you guys saw it on the US feed, as we see get the broadcast during US commercials because they don't show here.

As Mickelson walked to the next hole, a fan put his hand out and Mickelson "gave him five". It took incredible class to reach out to a fan at a moment like that. I hope that he and his family have a good holiday and that his wife's treatment goes well.

It didn't take Tiger to deny Phil the win. :wink2:

to say a guy ranked 800 something in the world gagged is a little off base....Now if you want to talk about gagging look up Scott Hoch.....

Yah gagging is being at -11 and end up losing the tournament, if we're picking on lower ranked players.
Duval got screwed with that lie on the par three (his first hole of the day). There was no way advanced that ball against the lip. Just coming back from that was impressive.
Actually everyone gagged, it's the US Open very high chance of gagging on that level of course.

I went to the grandstand on 17 and sat there all day. I saw more 3 and 4 putts than I've ever seen in my life. There were some serious car wrecks there. Of all the groups I saw play, there were only 2 birdies. The pin placement was brilliant. It was behind a tier, so anything short would roll back 30 feet, but anything past pin high to the left had the player putting left to right straight down hill. It was basically the demise of Phil of Duval. I really thought Duval holed his chip shot, but was very worried when I saw his putt. Everyone (and I do mean everyone) missed that putt to the low side. For some reason they couldn't bring themselves to play enough break. The only guy who made that putt was Glover, but his was a bit shorter than the other guys.

The other hole that I got to see in person that surprised me was 15. That hole is an evil bitch. Its about 460, which isn't too bad, but the green is about 50 feet elevated, and it's a par 5 green (IMO). Its tiny, has a huge ridge in the front, and the back half slopes away from the players. It was just wicked.

New York fans suck, BTW. I wasn't thrilled to see Glover win, but I would never yell hit it in the bunker before he teed off on 17. That really pissed me off. If it wasn't Tiger or Phil, they didn't give a shit.
