USC and Oklahoma and Auburn are the top 3. You really can't argue it. Look how they have played and who they have played. I think USC has looked the shakiest. And Auburn hasn't quite played the same calaber of teams, YET...but they will have to if they go undefeated.

So there are 3 undefeateds left. Utah, Wisconsin, and Bosie State.

Who has played the hardest schedule out of the 3? Utah

Who has looked the best out of the 3? Utah

Okay then...Utah is 4th.

Believe it or not...Wisconsin's schedule is more like Bosie State's than Utah's.

Neither have really played anybody. What is Wisconsin's best win? It's us. Their OOC schedule is HORRIBLE. They didn't have to play scUM. They aren't tested. And neither is Boise.

Wisconsin does have to go through a Big 10 schedule (even if it's scUMless), and so I don't think any 1 loss team should be ranked above them. CAL being ahead of them in the BCS is a joke. But out of the 5 undefeated teams (not including Boise State because they have an easy conference and easy schedule) I'd have to go:

USC
Oklahoma
Auburn
Utah
Wisconsin

Wisconsin needs to schedule tougher OOC opponents. There is no excuse for their schedule.

Utah probalby scheduled about as tough of a year as they could. Right now they should be 4th. If they win out, they should be in the BCS...NO QUESTIONS ASKED. There isn't a reason they shouldn't. They've played quality BCS teams and have completely dominated every game.

If you want to give Wisconsin the nod over Utah if they end up battling for the #2 spot...fine. But I don't think you can make a case that Wisconsin has the tougher schedule, and even if you could say their schedules are roughly the same...Utah up to this point has looked MUCH stronger.

If Utah played Wisconsin in a bowl game...who would you put your money on? I'd bet the farm on Utah.

How much vCash am I going to be making on this game if it happens...it just keeps getting better. Here's a good question though. Rose Bowl is going to get first pick to replace USC (if things go as planned for USC)...I really don't think there would be ANY CHANCE of the Rose Bowl choosing Utah over Cal, unless Cal loses another game. What do you think?

Great points JonathanXC. The BCS has them on the outside looking in because they're 7/8 in the human polls. CAL doesn't have a cakewalk left. Stanford has been playing well this year and Southern Miss is a trap game--especially at Hattiesburg. I'm still going with them in the Fiesta Bowl, based on what the reps have said. A key game at the end of the season: Texas A&M at Texas. It would keep the longhorns off of Utah and jack their schedule strength if A&M pulls off the upset. I'd go with the Utes against Wisconsin. It would be a great game I'm sure. The 2nd Offense against the 3rd Defense. Wisconsin, however, might not score much with the 80th Offense up against the 49th Defense.

Dammit...I wrote this whole long dammed thing about the matchups and reason why I liked Utah. Most to do with Smith's running AND passing ability...and his 24 TD to 2 INT. Plus the fact they spread the ball around and have lots of good WRs, not just one. Wisconsin's defense is for real, but I still think Utah will be able to outscore them. Urben Meyer is another reason I like them. His genious is scary and whatever BCS team is lucky to land him will be sucessful under him. Utah's defense is decent too. Under 20pts a game. But the main reason is Smith. I don't think Wisconsin has seen a QB like him...not even close...I don't think Wisconsin's defense is going to be too much for him. Wisconsin's defense has only been tested twice this year...Minnesota and Purdue. Orton started his string of bad games against Wisky. I'd like to credit it to Wisconsin, but you could tell something just wasnt right with him. And Wisconsin's offense getting out to a lead kept Minnesota from being able to stick with the ground game. I think the constant air attack will hurt Wisconsin. Smith has a quick release, I think he'll find the open man when Wisconsin blitzes. I just feel like this Utah team is maybe the best team in the country, but can't prove it because of their conference.

Its hard to say whether he'll bolt--IMO. The PAC 10 has been looking at Utah because of their Basketball program and presently their Football team. If Utah could get an invite to the PAC 10, along with BYU, there would certainly be incentives for Meyer to stay. Afterall, these coaches would like nothing better than to build a program--that is what gets you immortalized. My friend from Salt Lake has told me the boosters are stepping up and that program will continue to improve. Meyer is a heavily sought after coach, but he seems to be quite comfortable where he is. It would take a giant to spark his interest (one of the programs already on his contracts early out: TSUN, Ohio State, or Notre Dame).
I disagree... Meyer cares about advancing his career in other ways rather than just building a team. He has shown this by building Bowling Green for 2 years, only from turning them from a bad MAC team to a good MAC team. He was the reason they made one of their rare bowl appearances last year. He bolted the second Utah made him an offer, even though he had just given a press conference saying he wanted to stay in BG and build it up to be a more powerful team. Meyer doesn't give a shit about putting the Utes on the map, he wants to coach at one of the big name schools that he got a "walkout" clause for.

I think Utah has a good chance at taking ANYONE any time. However deserving to play in the NC game or even a BCS game depends on having a great SEASON, meaning playing well and winning in every game, or almost every game. Sure Utah could take Chokelahomo or Georgia, but do they have to sustain the same level of play game after game for the entire season? I think the answer is no. Utah can have a let down or a bad week and still survive and get a win, where a team in another conference would have lost simply because the competition is that much better. Take Cryami for an example, they lost to North Carolina and Clemson, both teams suck, but both teams are better than the competition Utah plays week in and week out. If Utah was in the Big 10, the pac 10, the Sec, or the ACC they would lose around 2-3 games. That would make them deserving of a BCS bowl, but not the NC game, and the BCS bowl is probably what they will get..
