Since no one wanted to fess up to having this game I went and got it:
Ground warfare: tough but sides on run and gun. Only the combat knife and Sniper rifle are one hit killers (unless you count the RPG as a hand to hand weapon). Machine Guns, Flame Thrower, Sniper Rifle, Pistol are anitpersonnel weapons of choice. Frag grenade, trip mine, RPGs are useful against any moving target.
Ground vs Air:Good luck, you get an RPG launcher, lock on and pray you connect and live to try to reload and lock again. Aircraft just strafes and launches a missle, you die. You can man Anit Aircraft Artillary guns or Long Range Surface to Air Missiles in defense, these are strung out in various places on the map but are your only hope against an Air Ace if you dont want to fly.
Ground vs Vehicles: Same as GvA. But this time the odds are better, you can take a slow moving tank or a 50 cal jeep one on one, still not a good idea.
Ground Vehicle Warfare: Slow ass beefy tank and speedy 4x4 jeep with a 50 cal machine gun are common modes of transport. All can have multiple passangers to allow for quick mass movements. Tank vs Tank ends by the first to land a shot, all tanks are equal. But vs a jeep one on one, tank fires big shell and jeep goes boom.
Air Vehicle Warfare: You can fly by motion sensor (and it is REACTIVE- I gave up, but it is fun) or left and right joysticks. Jump in an Aircraft and it starts as a hovercraft with unlimited up and down flying but slow forward and evasive manuvering. Hit 'triangle' (you can toggle from hover to flight and back again) and the jet engines kick on and you are flying in a jet powered aircraft for some dogfighting action (weapons are chaff for anti missle defense, homing missiles, radar guided cluster missiles, air mines, stealth and energy gun. also each aircraft has a gun. Cluster bombs are for anti troop and stealth hides your aircraft from missile turrets).
All and all, this game was very worth it. But it is solely online. You can buy it for $59 w/bluetooth headset package or for $39 from the Sony PS3 store on your PS3. The servers online are fan-fucking-tastic compared to NCAA2008 servers. Everything is quick - in game buddy lists, stat tracking, bluetooth/keyboard chat, ranked games or LAN games - it all flies on this server.
If you got a big enough TV, you can have up to 4 players on a split screen TV ONLINE!!!! or in your own room for some private fragging. If 4 isnt enough, you can LAN 4 PS3s and each running 4 players for upto a 16 man private game! Go online and host your own game for up to 32 players in your own private game.
Only downfall and why it doesnt get a 5 out of 5 is no single player action. But I would rather have none than a half-assed attempt. Incognito has a winner here.

Finally got some alone time to play Warhawk this evening (it's been sitting here for three days staring at me and taunting), and I must say this is one of the better online shooters I've ever played. Spent about two hours playing ... enough to figure out I'm terrible without my keyboard and mouse and will need lots of time to get up to speed, but ah well, it's a load of fun anyway. The server I hopped on was fast and flawless. No lag, jumping models, drops of frame rate hiccups.

A ton of fun, but you'll be terrible at first. The controls are odd. I don't own a PS3, but I did enjoy the game from the short amount of time I played it. The air combat seemed like the most fun. It was an original and entertaining experience, that's for sure. I'd buy it if I had a PS3.
