Alabama by 4 touchdowns. Tennessee at Pitt could be entertaining. Florida seems primed to lose to UK, no?

Texas vs Alabama will be the top nonconference game for week 2. Too bad it is a noon game too. Even though the game is in Austin; I look for an Alabama blowout. Alabama is just a better team, I don't think Saban has any love for Sarkisian, and Alabama probably wants to remind Texas who the "Big Dog" in the SEC is.

No. 1 Alabama (-19) at Texas: There was a slightly slow start to the Quinn Ewers era at Texas with an early interception once the highly touted Ohio State transfer took the field, but it didn't take long for him and the Longhorns offense to start pouring it on against ULM. Saturday afternoon will prove to be a much tougher test against an Alabama defense that pitched a shutout in a 55-point win against Utah State. Alabama frequently gets huge spreads in games against quality competition, but to be favored by nearly three touchdowns on the road might say more about the Crimson Tide than anything else.

Texas football coach Steve Sarkisian not concerned whether Alabama showdown defines Longhorns program

"It's one game, you know?" Sarkisian said Monday. "It's a chance for us to do what we love to do. I think one of the biggest mistakes people make is [thinking] this is going to be the game that's going to define our program.

"It might, it might not. I'm not that concerned about it. I'm more concerned about just the way we play the game."

Entire article: https://www.espn.com/college-footba...er-alabama-showdown-defines-longhorns-program

Just sayin': Sounds like Sark expects to lose the game. It only defines their program if they win....

Sarkisian knows the psyche he needs against a dominant Alabama program, and laughed remembering how intense working for Saban was, although he recalled Lane Kiffin getting the brunt of it.

Miami of Ohio was within 7 of UK midway through the third.
Unless they take a big step forward, this is likely a UF win.

But I've been wrong before. The comedown after a huge upset catches good teams sometimes

They struggled to run the ball without Rodriguez (26 carries 50 yards as a team), he wont be playing this week vs Florida either. I doubt they are going to be able to just air it out on Florida. Could be a lopsided W for Florida.

Man, looking at USC Stanford made me think of how badly I wanted David Shaw as browns HC and seeing as he hasn’t even been able to make Stanford respectable yet speaks to how he is kind of a pleb.

Kentucky’s starting RB Chris Rodriguez is suspended. I think they might be missing their second stringer as well (not sure about that but am pretty sure Chris Rod is not playing).

Their O line did not look great against Miami Ohio either.

Will Levis is a solid qb, maybe he can elevate Kentucky to a win, but I see them having a hard time winning on the road without their starting RB and a suspect OL.

If Ohio State had, say Purdue or Maryland coming in this week, there'd be at least some concern of a let down. And Kentucky is probably better than Purdue and Maryland and Florida is not as good as Ohio State. If I were Kentucky, I'd have spent much more time prepping for Florida during camp than Miami.
