Western Final: Spurs vs Thunder

There is, but they just so happen to play on the same team.... I'd build a team around Russell Westbrook just as quickly as I'd build around Durant. Both have been class acts since joining the NBA.

Speaking of class acts, how about the Spurs in defeat? Seemed like every Spur was congratulating each Thunder player, wishing them luck in the finals. That was refreshing to see.

Pure class on that side, as well. I think there's about a 60% possibility Duncan retires. If he does, I don't think we'll see another big quite as dominating as he has been for quite some time.

Also, as the team is being presented the Western Conference Championship trophy, each player has their arms around one another... Complete TEAM.

No doubt dude. Duncan will always be one of my favorite players and will go down as one of the greatest bigs to play.

Personally, it was difficult to cheer against either team this series. Each organization did it the right way by drafting and signing players that fit each teams' system and more importantly are great teammates. You could see on both teams how each player fed off the next.

So, were those the Spurs or the 2009 Cavaliers?

S.A. followed that script to perfection this year.

not entirely. the 2009 cavs got shot out of the arena by roided up rashard lewis, turkeyglue, and pietrus (who i don't think has come close to playing at that level since). san antonio got ran out of the gym by a much younger okc team.

Wasn't a great fan of his at Texas.. or his first year in the NBA

He has won me over though as he has improved each year, while keeping his ego so grounded. The tweet to announce he resigned with them while James was making a production about his "taking my talents to south beach" show probably was when I really became a fan of Durants.

They really could go on a Bull's like run if they can keep that core hungry and together, and it wouldn't hurt my feelings if they come out of the west for the next 10 years

Durant doesn't have Lebron's physicality or ability to take the ball to the basket. He's not afraid to take the ball to the basket and he's a very good finisher at the rim, but Lebron is just on another level in that area.

It's Durant's shooting ability that sets him apart and allows him to be such a great team player. He doesn't need to have the ball in his hands. He can spot up and be just as, if not more, dangerous. He can compliment anyone around him and make them better. That's why his team is having more success.

Lebron and DWade, on the other hand, require the ball. They are not spot-up shooters and they need to be surrounded by guys that can shoot. They do not compliment each other at all except on the fast break.

This.

I commented on it to my buddy last night how you rarely see that today and how cool it was of Duncan & Co. to really go around and congratulate all of OKC's players and coaches on winning and winning the right way. Really didn't want to see either team lose this series to be honest because I hate both Boston and Miami and how they act individually.
