Comments....

Foley: wasn't his greatest literary work.

Wakefield, Spurrier, and Sayers: wasn't I a great guy type of book.

Clemente and Russell: about what you would expect from those 2 men.

Sweetness: He did do some legitimate charity work; hence the NFL Man Of The Year Award named after him. However, didn't realize what a lousy husband, father, businessman, and team mate he was. A world class womanizer that ended up with 2 or 3 STDs. It was a very interesting (and revealing) book.

Hamilton: I knew he had a problem, but didn't realize what it actually was. He went from a well to do, all american, can't miss number 1 draft pick, "5 tool" baseball player to an alcohol and crack cocaine addict. Interesting that right after reading the book he starting using again and got kicked off the Angels.

The Bus: Just the opposite from Hamilton; he went from Detroit ghetto resident, thief, gang member, and drug dealer to a NFL Hall Of Fame career and NFL Walter Payton Man Of The Year Award recipient. Actually wanted to go to scUM; but was pissed at Schembechler for not heavily recruiting him in high school.

I hope you realize that you should be ashamed of yourself for reading a YA novel. Grow up already!

#lolololol, jk!

I actually spend a lot of my time reading literature that is directed at young people, including these two British classics, both of which I enjoyed immensely:

"The Railway Children" by E.Nesbit

"Swallows and Amazons" by Arthur Ransome

And I just got a copy of "Swallowdale" from OhioLINK for more bucolic English adventures...

I honestly had no idea it was a novel for the utes. I would have been traumatized to read this 20 years ago.....heck, I'm pretty sure I'm going to be traumatized finishing it now.
