Re-reading: A Brief History of Time..........again I am flabbergasted.

Also read: Thats Why I Am Here. by Chris Spielman.

Interestingly enough, a letter I sent to Stephanie and Chris Spielman is included.

Both are great but in such a different manner.

I just started "Fall of Giants" by Ken Follett. Good so far but still very early.

Has anyone read it?

I did when it first came out. I didn't enjoy it quite as much as Pillars of the Earth, but it was still good.

Apparently, the 2nd book in the trilogy (Winter of the World) was released two days ago.

"Lil Brutus, Born a Buckeye"

We got this free when our daughter was born at the OSU Wexner Medical Center this year, and it's been part of our older daughter's regular bedtime routine the past few weeks, by her request. She loves Brutus: I'm a proud dad.

I always thought King's short stories/novellas were better than his novels. He seems to get lost in novels and can't find a way to finish them. I've read the first story in the book so far, "1922", grim and grisly but it held my interest.

Finally finished the four stories originally in the book (this version has a bonus story I haven't read yet).

"Big Driver" - Okay story, good for what it is but there's nothing too original that could have taken it to another level.

"Fair Extension" - The shortest story in the book, probably a good thing as I found it the weakest as well.

"A Good Marriage" - The best of the book. Very compelling and sinister in a real-world kinda way.

Overall, good stuff. It stays (mostly) away from the supernatural and highlights the more disturbing possibilities of human nature. "A Good Marriage" is being adapted into a movie, so I'll be interested to see how that turns out.
