Buying and Eliptical Machine for my wife and I in a few weeks. I'll start with that and get a bench and curl bar this spring. The goal is to be roller blading with my 8 year old this summer and to not be a fatass coaching softball.

Umm...With school and swim season. I lift in the morning(Personal Fitness Class), we do a different part of the body everyday. One day may be chest, shoulders, legs, etc. My class does that for about 30-35 minutes(Class is like 45 minutes long).

During the Christmas break when I had swim practice we would really go hard. We would do three (3) sets of running. Which includes running around the "commons" 3 times and then doing 2 sets of steps(Up the steps, down the hallway, back down the steps, down the hallway). And then we go into the wieght room and do three different exercises. Then we go out and run another 2 sets of what I already explained. That is what we did today and have been doing during Christmas break. Can't really say what the distance is of running, about 2-2.5 miles probably.

On school days after school we don't do both. We either run or lift wieghts.

Today when we got to the pool we did a 200 meter "warm-up" swim. Non-stop. Then we did 3 sets of 100 meters. After that we did 3 sets of 50 meters. Then we did a 100 meter "warm-down" swim. So today we did a good 750 meters in the pool.

Most of the time we do 500-600 meters of swimming(everyday we don't have a swim meet). But thats usually with breaks inbetween(100 meters at a time).

I run 4-5 days a week for a total of 100-160 kilometres a month (65-100 miles), depending on if I am building up to run a race.

I use light weights (15 kgs/35lbs) three times a week to work on upper body strength.

SIMV--walking from my door to the car, and from the car to the door.
This is NOT what we discussed.

MWF - teach step aerobics at 930, pilates at 550, lower body conditioning at 645, and upper body conditioning 715, run at least a mile at AM class

TTH (sometimes F) - walk a minimum of 10 miles at The Lizard

S - H2O Aerobics and laps

some S&S - again walk 5 - 10 miles, depending on how busy The Lizard is on my shift

Random weight lifting throughout the week with clients, nothing that I would consider extra workouts though

I work out at lunch when I am in the office.
30 minutes on a stairmaster.
Then I work through a 4 day weight rotation. Chest and shoulders, back and traps, arms, legs repeat. I usually throw in abs and lower back each day.

I'm with NJ, my joints dictate what I do and how much. Last year I was into lifting heavy and getting bigger and stronger. One rotator cuff problem and now my goal is to stay alive long enough to enjoy the beer workout others have mentioned.:)
