I got sick and tired of Firefox locking up on me and being slow, so I switched to Safari, and so far I really like it.

I've actually been playing around with SRWare Iron a lot lately.

Essentially it's Google's Chrome without Google looking over your shoulder. It was built using Google's open source Chromium implementation of their browser.

In the event anyone cares, chalk me up as a happy Vista user who had to unload Internet Explorer 8 off my machine. Instability was a serious problem for me. (IE7 works fine, and it's my preferred browser.)

Be careful with Vista, as IE8 can be loaded without your prior knowledge depending on your Windows Update settings.

Same here made the switch from Firefox to chrome. So far chrome is by far the better option

Firefox is starting to piss me off, and I'm on the verge of doing the same.

The main things that are stopping me - some stuff I do for work doesn't support Chrome, and I still haven't quite gotten over the idea of turning over yet another one of my computing needs to Google.

NKU really pissed me off when they stopped supporting Chrome and most smartphone browsers. IT did not get a pleasant survey from me. I had to go back to Firefox to avoid constantly switching browsers because their new login for wireless crashes Chrome.

Chrome is a real pain in the ass from an IT perspective.

I really like the adblocking and anti-tracking stuff I can do in FF. Does Chrome have similar add-ons?

Another site I used to frequent had a thread from a guy who switched from FF to Chrome and described his experience. He lasted maybe half a year before going back.
