When you are everyone's rival...

I saw some Purdon't fan whining in the Indy Star the other day about hating OSU and how much money we spend on athletics...blah blah blah...yada yada yada...they were hoping to get the big win they got yesterday as a way to put it to us...

Ok, you got your win....let me know how the rest of the season goes.....or was this your season....

Growing up I hated Indiana more than any other team the Buckeyes faced on the hardcourt.
Same here. Though my views have changed somewhat they are still #2 on my basketball rivalry list no matter how bad they are and how good PU, MSU and UW are.

Purdue is 1 game out of first place. If the Bucks don't right the ship soon (which I'm confident they will) Purdue might be looking at a shared Big10 title.

A long time coming? A few good but not great years does not a dynasty make. I remember as recently as 2005 we were thrilled just to win the Big 10. Kansas, UNC, Duke have all been dominant forces on the national spectrum for 20+ years.

How do they do in football?

Few schools can be a top ten program in both sports and sustain it for any period of time. Florida won their two titles in both sports - which was pretty fucking impressive, btw - but their hoops team hasn't sustained that level and they've lost 5 football games in 2 of the last 5 seasons.

It is very difficult to do what OSU has been doing the last 5+ years in BOTH sports. Enjoy the ride because it won't last forever...will it?

No arguments from me on that. I'm just not ready to put us in the same breath as Kansas, Kentucky, Duke, or UNC. Let's win a couple titles before we do that. Not just one title, but a couple titles.

We're only talking about this year.

You can't put us in that same breath this year?
