What's funny is all the RBs exiting early. There are 10 RBs on that list. If you're picked in the first round, it's really not worth coming out early. I don;t recall an NFL draft where 10 RBs were picked in Round 1, so a lot of these guys are going to be very disappointed. Gore and Fason are the only underclassmen RBs I see going in the first round...maybe, just maybe, Barber.

Couple of points

1-RBs only have so much mileage-it might be better to get drafted in the 3rd round and start the $$$ clock on your NFL career than get beat up another year in college. RB is one position where it is usually clear fairly early if you have the stuff to play in the pro's-unlike QB or linemen.

2-Gore's knees will cost him a 1st or 2nd round spot-too many other options. Too bad-he is a kid who has worked hard and overcome a lot of obstacles-2 ACL's, major learning disabilities.

3-Believe it or not, Clarett might not be the biggest headcase/psycho boom or bust pick in the draft. That kid Incognito is like the 2nd coming of Barret Robbins-major, major talent-started at Nebraska as a RS frosh and made All Big XII two years in a row at guard and tackle, but is also a violent headcase-kicked off the team at Nebraska for fighting/personality issues-went to the Meninger Clinic for anger therapy, transferred to Oregon and was kicked off the team by Bellotti after a week.

1-Still, getting beat up that extra year in college can make a huge difference in salary. Regardless if you enter the draft early at 20/21 or at the normal time at 21/22, your initial contract is going to be the same. Not only the difference in salary but maybe earning a signing bonus with the higher pick could easily make up for the "extra" year in college.

2-If Buffalo took McGahee in the first round after that nasty knee injury, then Gore should also have a shot, escpecially with how well McGahee has played (proving that rehabs get work).

3-Clarett isn't near the head case that Randy Moss and Terrell Owens are, so that's why I say he'll be drafted while others say he won't. However, his two full years of no gametime football will keep him out of the first day.

Get up on the wrong side of the bed or something? I read where he was from, but usually no name backups don't come out early. From what I know, Watson, Massey, and the Masterbator started up front for them.

Moss is nuts, but T.O. is about as straight an arrow as you will ever find. Not to mention his legendary work ethic. But unlike Moss and Clarett, I don't think he's ever had a run in with the law.

At least McGahee proved he can play. The only thing that has impressed me with Gore is his ability to run his mouth.
