Wisconsin Badgers (Official Thread)

Glad the BADgers decided to cancel and quarantine. Can't have covid spreading through the conference. Buckeyes need to make the playoffs and if I understand correctly, they are out if any games on the schedule are canceled.

Looks like it jumped from Wisconsin to Illinois during the game last Friday. Multiple positives. Wouldn't be surprised if they postpone Purdue to make sure there aren't more undiscovered cases that get spread to them. If they were smart they'd just push Purdue to play Nebraska. Not ideal, but at least it would open up a week in the schedule. But that won't happen.

At this point, the tests are doing their job, but the incubation period makes it so fucking difficult to make sure someone isn't spreading the virus and there aren't enough weeks left.

If a season is going to continue, 2 things need to happen:

1. Move the days a player must sit out to between 10-14. With some of the new medical reports, I think they can now safely do this.

2. The CFP will need to give all the conferences at least 2 extra weeks to reschedule league and conference title games.

With so many cases popping up in the midwest, every team will probably be affected soon and it'll be hard to maintain a weekly schedule.

Here's an interesting scenario.

Scum is 6-0 going into The Game.

Bucks 5-0 due to opponent cancellations.

Scum cancels The Game, goes to B1GCCG.
Yeah see I don't like that teams can just say we don't want to go play and they still get no contest and not forfiet. If you meet the Big 10 threshold you should have to play. Though I don't think they do anymore with 16 active cases so probably mute. But let's say Milton catches it and michigan cancels the OSU game cause they don't want to play OSU without him. That'd be bitch made and precident says they can do it

The CCG does not determine who goes on to the CFP. The Bucks would still play the next team on the cross-conference list in the final week.

Further, if Michigan claims too many out w/COVID to play OSU, they sure as shit aren't going to get the 14-day minimum they need to play in the CCG.

But let's just say that they do try and duck and still cover. If this Buckeye team is as good as I think it is, the polls will reflect that and reflect that Michigan is still not ready for prime time. My biggest concern is a Notre Dame team that manages to win one of two games against Clemson and manages to keep both tight into the late 4th quarter. The media slobberfest will be tough to get by.

And now comes the news that Lawrence has tested positive - he misses this week and probably the ND game too.

Of course, without Lawrence, Clemson could conceivably lose to BC and ND, then charge back to sweep the CCG. That could lead to a cluster fuck of galactic proportions.

And now comes the news that Lawrence has tested positive - he misses this week and probably the ND game too.

Oddly worded ACC guidelines state that a player must isolate for 10 days after ‘onset of symptoms/positive test’ and he must be symptom free for 24 hours and have a negative test result before practicing or traveling.

CBS
Pursuant to CDC guidance, a student-athlete who tests positive for COVID-19 shall be isolated for at least 10 days from the onset of symptoms/positive test and at least 1 day (i.e., 24 hours) has passed since recovery defined as resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and improvement of respiratory symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath).

His positive test was administered on Wednesday, 10 days before their night game in South Bend. But he could say he had a headache on Tuesday, so the 10 days after onset of symptoms would end on Friday, the day before the game. If he has no positive tests next week, he could conceivably travel with the team on Friday.

ACC guidelines also stipulate that the team gets tested on the day before each game, and that test is administered by a third party chosen by the conference. I’m assuming those test results would be reviewed before the team leaves for their plane.
