Woody Hayes Athletic Center (Official Thread)

Does anyone know if visitors are allowed to check out the main lobby of the new center with their "Buckeyes in the NFL" display and the other traditions displayed at the facility?

The main lobby that you are speaking of is the new atrium, which displays the national championship trophies and heisman trophies. When the WHAC is opened you are allowed to view this. The "Buckeyes in the NFL" display is in the hallway along with the other things to see, this is NOT OPENED TO THE PUBLIC.

Tom Webster, left, and Richard Rinsma of Eyethink regard their design work for Ohio State's athletics department as the Holy Grail of projects. Their work this year on the Woody Hayes Athletic Center is designed as a celebration of Buckeye football history and tradition, the OSU graduates said.

Tom Webster and Richard Rinsma aren't as familiar to OSU fans as Archie Griffin and Greg Oden, but they're a big deal in Buckeye sports circles. Work done by their Powell design firm, Eyethink, is playing an important role in sports recruiting, fundraising and public relations for the school.
Their work on the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, the Schottenstein Center and the like help those venues transcend their original purpose. Their drawings and models are used to recruit donors, and the finished product is used to court prospective students and athletes.

Most likely hand timed.

Additionally, the point is to foster a competition amongst the team to see who is the fastest.

I don't think they are trying to make a pitch to NFL teams that those are legitimate 40 times, although they may be trying to intimidate opponents, impress recruits or make a case for 'northern speed' which are all helped by a fast trigger finger on a hand timed 40.

So yes, they are exaggerated times... so what? "SEC speed" is exaggerated along with most other talking points- fight fire with fire.
