Always Have a Plan
1 -- Take 100K pa job., negotiating good vacation as pre-requisite
2 -- Set aside sufficient moneys pa for tOSU tickets
3 -- Build resume and credentials
4 -- Buy the tOSU Alumni club membership and ticket with funds from 2.
5 -- Each year take long 4 day weekends around football season using excellent vacation benefits negotiated in 1.
6 -- After a number of years I determine in advance (say less than 7, more than 3) take credentials and experience gained in 3 and transfer back to a better position allied with tOSU.

Of course I would. I would take the money to send my kids to The Ohio State University. Could I commute from Ohio? I don't want to spend any more money than I have to in that state up north.

I would take the job and made sure that I did it well. However, I'd still be a diehard Buckeye fan...no less of one than I am today.
As much as I love football, it is still a game. If you put a game in front of matters that have relevance to the welfare of your current or future family, you're wrong.
Just because you work there, doesn't mean you have to support them in your personal life.
