No. TP is a Senior and would still be streets ahead of Miller's total development.

We can leave Frosh experiments where they belong - in AA.

I'm having a hard time remembering 2008 as a "rebuilding" year. That team was STACKED with upperclassmen talent.

You're right. The 2008 team was stacked with upperclass talent, but I have to say, during the first half of the season, the offensive line played like it was a rebuilding year. My memory may be failing me but it was something like: Boone, Rehring, Brewster, Cordle, Browning.

Wasn't Braxton promised by the staff that he was going to be the only QB they offered?

I have read that a couple times on here but never heard of it anywhere else. I do find it hard to believe they would make such a promice when they had so much interest in Cardale.

There is also the chance that Cardale was offered as an athlete, not as a qb.

We will find out more once the news gets past the pay sites and into the regular media.

Can you provide the quote?

I'm not sure if it's a direct quote or not that you're looking for, but post #708 in this thread has an article from the Dayton Daily news that says the following: "One of the main reasons Miller chose the Buckeyes, he said, was to remain a quarterback and develop at the position. OSU told him he was the only quarterback in his class the school was recruiting."

Here's the link to the article. http://www.daytondailynews.com/dayt...-for-playing-qb-led-miller-to-osu-745449.html

Hope that helps.

Yeah I was looking for a direct quote, because the that information is in contradiction to what I have heard his coach report on Bucknuts radio. I don't have a link nor the time to look one up now, but I was under the understanding that was a misconception that was put to bed some time ago or s and was Internet fodder.

I may be wrong, but I doubt the staff would tell Braxton that he is the only QB that would be considered? He was the obvious number one because the Stank has been on him since his coming out party as a freshman.

The article says "OSU told him he was the only "quarterback in his class the school was recruiting"." either way I just don't see JT saying you are the only QB we will show any interest in, recruit, offer period etc. However if the staff did say this, it looks like it may end up being ok as Jones may not Join until 2012 and would be a different class. However there was no way for the staff to know this for sure at the time they were pursuing Braxton.

Maybe it's just me, but I just don't see the coaching staff flat out lying to Braxton especially considering the relationship they have with the Wayne coaching staff and Braxton(considering they have been recruiting him for 4 years). Relationships are everything in recruiting.

Just another thought on the matter....if JT and staff did make that promise to Braxton, there's nothing to say that they couldn't have went back to him and shared their thinking with him in regards to offering Cardale.

In other words, not that they would need it, but they could have inquired as to what Braxton thought of them offering another qb, and he could have given them his "blessing". Just a lot of variables to this situation that we'll probably never know. My 2 cents on the matter.
