Schwartz says that Coach Fickell has said he is the top safety prospect for OSU and that the staff wants to see him on defense for a few games before they offer. Grant says if OSU offered, it would be hard to pass up.

That is great news! I wonder if we can get access to any of his defensive clips to post in this thread?

Thats what I am talking about!!! Fickell strikes again - I think this guy could sell ice to an eskimo.

I really like Grant's videos, he just seems like a pure athlete that you could put just about anywhere on the field and he would make plays. Gotta love the versality that JT is recruiting.

Grant, Good luck in your first few games in proving that you deserve a Buckeye offer!!

Indeed, this guy's highlight of his life was being on the field after the 02 michigan game, where he turned and asked his dad why he ever left. (intel borrowed from calibuckeye on BN, who I'm assuming might bear some similarities to lagunasurf ).

He bleeds OSU all the way. We might just get a second solid dual-threat QB in this roster, while also filling out our ranks at safety.

I think most of the buckeye nation that follows recruiting is pulling for this kid.

He is a DB possibly a slot/flanker...

For you that remember the name (I'm sure Laguna will..), he reminds me of Brian Baschnagel. Natural athlete, good vision, smooth cuts, and that burst that separates him from the pack.

Bashnagel

On Brian Bashnagel WB '72-'75, an ALL-TIME Buckeye great. Part of a backfield that included Archie, Pete Johnson and Corny Green. 4 straight Rose Bowls! Brian had a nice stint with the Bears and is as great a person as he was a player. We played many hours of basketball @ lunch in St John Arena. Those were some great 4 on 4's! On Calibuckeye, obviously a fan of Grant Schwartz but no relation or similarities to me. Go Bucks!

I saw Brian's picture on the 8/3 Rivals article and did a double take. He looks like he could be Dustin Fox's brother. The parallels are many between the two, although Grant looks to be a bit bigger.I am really pulling for this kid. I hope he plays well in those first couple of games and gets that offer!

While I believe Fickell is an excellent recruiter, selling tOSU to Schwartz would be like selling Tandoori Chicken to Tibs.

More like selling sheep to tibor...OK, that was ba-a-a-a-a-d.

With talent and Buckeye loyalty like Grant's, little doubt that he eventually gets offered. Being such a great athlete, our staff will have decide what to recruit him as. With Henton as QB, I think they look to plug Grant in elsewhere.

lagunasurf has my address, so all he has to do is send me tapes of the games and I'll have clips posted the day I get the tape.

Thanks MillaniBuck keep at it man. I'm really interested to see his clips on defense and how good he looks this year. I know he is very athletic and if he can play considerable well on defense he will have his offer. Personally I am much more impressed with Schwartz at QB from the video I have seen but that will be the staffs call. Hopefully he will get some time at QB I think he could be a good one. Reminds me of Drew Tate. Regardless he is too good of an athlete to not have at OSU. Hopefully he gets an offer after the tapes come in which I think he will also.

After watching his video on SunshinePreps again, I would have to think that Grant gets an offer eventually. He is just too much of an athlete to not take. He could play any number of positions and his game speed is phenomenal. The scramble that he takes to the house from about 60+ yards blew me away. He throws such a pretty ball too...it looks effortless.
