WR Kaleb Brown (transfer to Iowa)

Kaleb Brown and Zak Herbstreit also both made deep-ball catches during Thursday’s practice. Brown’s catch during the “young guys” portion of practice led to plenty of excitement from the veteran wide receivers as they watched the final periods of practice while doing their own post-practice stretching.

Martinez and Kaleb Brown were among those returning punts.

He was pretty much all St. Rita had going in terms of offense. I watched that game and was rooting for not St. Rita (it’s my kids’ school they were playing). I didn’t realize who he was until some time middle of the first… and NGL, he was unstoppable early. The DC made some adjustments — basically, everyone but him can beat us.

• Day said Brown has been improving with each practice and hopes to continue that trend in his first year as a Buckeye.

This is the kid I believe will be pushing X for PT at the X/hybrid/RB-WR position. Mainly a RB in HS, and has transitioned into a WR. Another bullet in the chamber for Day/McCord/Brown

I don't blame him, but as much as I could be surprised by a second year WR leaving, this surprised me. Best of luck wherever he goes!

Wish Kaleb the best on wherever he lands. But Burton and now Brown? Maybe the target for '24 class is at 4 now, I would bet on it. With Tate and Innis coming in plus the '24 WRs we are getting, we had to expect attrition.
