WR/RB Lamaar "Flash" Thomas (transfer to New Mexico)

Apparently one more "speed" guy is what the satff coverts. Thomas, McGuffie, Woods, Pead and J.Adams all seem to be the top candidates for the spot. One of them will spereate themselves. I will take any of them and leave a happy man.

Close, but ...

Lamaar Thomas admitted he was thinking about the boys? 100-meter record at the state track championships last weekend. In a school year of titles and records for the Friendly High School junior, it wasn?t far from the realm of possibility.

Under hot and humid conditions at Morgan State University Saturday, Thomas wasn?t able to erase the state mark, but Thomas put himself in select company. He finished a Triple Crown season in the 100, winning the 3A state title with a run of 10.63 seconds. The time was good for a tie for ninth-best in state finals? history with DuVal High?s Dwayne Vaughn. It was the fastest performance at the state meet since David Driggers from Oxon Hill clocked 10.5 in the 4A semifinals in 2000.

Thomas, who set the county finals? mark (10.5) three weekends ago, missed gaining a second Triple Crown in the 200, placing second (21.93) to Westlake?s Corryl Boyd (21.88). Thomas said he?s surprised he was able to pull off the postseason sweep in the 100.

??I didn?t think I came out of the blocks too well,? said Thomas, who won the state 3A⁄2A indoor 55 title during the winter, and was part of the Patriots? undefeated state 3A champion football squad last fall. ??But I didn?t panic, stayed in the race and let it come to me.?

Despite injury, Clipper shines

From the BC site (what a joke)...up to 31 offers. Illinois, Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina, Maryland, Boston College and Virginia Tech stand out.

From the Virginia site...UVA has offered. Schools that stand out Illinois, Tennessee, Florida, Ohio State, Penn State and Virginia Tech.

Proof positive that you can't always get your answers from Rivals/Scout updates...one update mentions OSU and one doesn't...you figure it out.

More Maryland damage control...Thomas has dropped Maryland last week but is still considering them after his visit.

The practically take a swipe at the other schools recruiting him...basically insinuating that everyone else is feeding him a bunch of lines but that Maryland is the only one serious about letting him play running back.

From the Maryland site...talks about visit to Maryland yesterday. Will be at OSU on Friday.

Sweet.. outside of Pryor, this is the best player still on the OSU board, IMO... Was happy to see Josh Haden head to BC, cause Thomas was thought to really like Florida, and he and Haden are pretty close... If Josh had picked UF, that probably would have pulled Thomas even closer to the Gators

I think he is mostly referring to Illinois. A lot of Maryland fans including the writer of this article have been jealous of the Illini haul from MD and have recently started lashing out on Illinois message boards.
