Duane Long has stated numerous times that he believes Youboty will go pro early based upon his conversations when he first came aboard. When Youboty gave the reason for coming to tOSU the first thing out of his mouth was that tOSU puts corners in the NFL. Just food for thought.
Nahh, Youboty I feel will stay for his senior year. I think Salley will leave just by what Youboty stated in todays Dispatch article:

Junior cornerback Ashton Youboty was talking about going against receiver Santonio Holmes in practice, and mentioned he had heard Holmes would be the No. 1-rated receiver in the 2006 NFL draft.

Youboty then was asked what he had heard about the cornerback draft ratings. He made a name for himself last season with four interceptions and 14 passes defensed.

"I don’t hear nothing, my ears are closed," Youboty said, smiling. "I just tell my teammates, ‘Let’s just get to Pasadena (for the Rose Bowl).’ People like (safety) Nate Salley rub it in, talk about, ‘He’s leaving early, he’s out.’

"I’m definitely looking forward to having a good season, and then after that I’ll just make decisions in the winter."

Youboty coming to OSU b/c they put a lot of corners into the NFL is not a reason to say he'll go early (sorry duane). He's big enough and talented enough to jump to the pros, but that rationale is faulty, imo.

salley's a senior

See thats what confused me. I had thought he was a Senior, but I guess I read the statement wrong. I thought it was implicating that Salley said thats hes out early (refering to himself, not Youboty)....But, now I get that hes talking about Youboty. I think that if Youboty gets heavy recognition this year (nationally), and OSU goes BCS bowling, then Youboty may step up and leave, IMO. But if we dont do as well, he may come back and pull a Doss/Holmes "Im comming back for my senior season to win a NC."

Guess I was wrong. See BP85 you should've just waited for my slow ass to finish typing, and you could've claimed that you just typed in the wrong name.

Outside of the starting corners who is there? If there was enough talent at corner why is Whitner being moved there from safety? I don't want to see TGII doing a Chris Gamble but playing in the red zone situations is not a bad idea.

Whitner's not being moved there from safety. They tried him there during the spring b/c everett was hurt. Welch/Lane looked good in the spring, and Jenkins is blowing people away as a shutdown corner. O'Neal is doing really well and looks to push for time at the nickel back. We have plenty of depth at corner. Ginn was used there during red zone schemes in the spring, but there may be very little need for him.
