Curious: What OSU QB has the most wins as the starter and what is that total?

I know I am getting the cart out in front of the horse a bit...but looking at our roster and recruiting..I have to think Pryor has a real shot at being the 'winningest' QB in OSU history.

Anyone know who that currently is?

Looked at the media guide depending on when he started in the 78 season, some of you old farts should know, Art had 34-36 wins. He's #1 easily.

#2 Cornelius Greene 31 wins
#3 Bobby Hoying 30 wins :lol:

The only way Pryor has a chance to catch Schlichter is:

1. Four year career. Ain't gonna happen
2. Beat Texas then win Back-to-Back titles. Likely, but not guaranteed. :biggrin:

In Carter's thread this morning, wadc45 posted that Duron has said he won't ask Pryor to switch, he's content to create his own legacy with a different number.

He still could have left after only 3 years. A redshirt doesn't change the fact that he left after 4 years, not 3.

That being said, Pryor appears to be more polished after 1 year of starting than VY was. At the end of his second year as a starter, though, VY was crazy good. Here's hoping Pryor stays ahead of the curve, eh?

I would be surprised to see TP leave after three years. We have yet to really see a mobile pro-QB lead their time to great success.

Vince Young and Michael Vick had both been highly touted mobile QBs in the NFL. Granted, other things have changed as well, but since both QBs have left their teams, their teams have actually thrived and will be making the playoffs this year.

I think TP will, without a doubt, be a great college QB, but being a great college QB does not necesarily translate to being a great pro-prospect.

That's still not a rebuttal. He was nowhere near ready to play pro football after three seasons. He wasn't even ready to play top shelf college football until his fourth season. Folks still didn't believe he could beat OSU with his arm (and not just OSU homers) heading into that matchup.

Pryor also does not have the arm strength of Vince Young. He still must improve a lot to prove that he's an NFL QB, let alone one who doesn't need a senior season to develop.
