People are too unrealistic with Terrelle. What was Colt McCoy doing four games into his second year in cfb? Vince Young? Mark Sanchez? Tim Tebow? They weren't world beaters, that's for sure. And to make comments after a game in which the first half looked like Hurricane Katrina: The Sequal, is silly. As far as Ohio State is concerned, Terrelle is doing fine.

Uh, I do believe that TT won the Heisman as a Sophomore. Other than that, I agree with you.

Mccoy: 20/29 for 333yds, 3 TD and 0 INT.

Young's second year he was backing up Chance Mock, 4th game of his sophmore season he was 15/20 for 189yds 2TDs and 0 INT, he also ran 5 times for 55 yards.
Sanchez was backing up Booty.

Tebow: 20/34 for 261yds, 2 TD and 0 INT, he also ran 27 times for 166yds and 2 TDs.

I think V. Young is probably the best comparison. I know it's been said before, but Tressel would be well advised to go down to Texas this spring and ask Mack for his 2005 playbook. I have a feeling once TP relaxes and is comfortable just being himself out on the field we'll see a big increase in the entire offense's efficiency.

His sophomore season was his third year on campus. Vince was a pretty poor passer through most of three years on campus...

as far as tebow winning the heisman as a sophmore is concerned. a couple other notables occured that season as well.

1. 9-4
2. lost to scum

anyone who would prefer any award or trophy up to and including both a heisman and or nc over a win vrs scum is not a tOSU fan.

I think a lot of Pryos woes stems from being afraid of being hit hard. He needs the tenacity of a someone with a small man complex. the intimidation is causing him throwing off his back legs and being afraid to look at other reads IMO.
It's a natural thing and he is still young. He will get better, and with that more confidence.

That's why I specified that in his second year he was just the backup to Mock, and I didn't see much point in comparing the stats of a backup QB to a full time starter. But just for the heck of it, Young was 4/7 for 68yds and 1TD, 3 rushes for 69yds and 1TD in the 4th game of his second year.

Let's forget about comparing him to one person or another. College football has been around long enough now that you can go back and pick out anyone you want to argue one way or the other about Pryor. Besides, that's not how he should be measured right now. He should be measured by whether his mechanics and footwork are stellar or poor, or whether he's making the best decision or not in any given situation - not whether or not he's doing relatively better than some other player was as at that point.

Terrelle is not doing fine yet. He needs to get better. I think most if not all of us believe he will. If he's fine right now, would you be satisfied if he were playing at the same level at the end of this season or at any point next season? I wouldn't - I would be rather disappointed.

Recognizing his deficiencies, and tracking his improvement is in no way unrealistic. I think it's an appropriate discussion at this point.
