Jeannette's Pryor generating awe

TRIBUNE-REVIEW

Jeannette coach Ray Reitz has been around long enough to remember when Pro Football Hall of Famer Tony Dorsett was playing for Hopewell High School. He never has seen anything to match what Terrelle Pryor did Friday night in a WPIAL Class AA playoff game.

"I always thought Tony Dorsett was the best I've ever seen play high school football, but I think Terrelle surpasses him," he said. "What he did Friday against a team that can run was amazing."

My brother just got back from a baseball camp in Florida. He was talking to a guy who lives in Wisconsin but is from TP's home town.He was telling my brother that word on the street is that TP is going to Ohio State.Don't know if it is just talk or if is true. That's just what he was told.

After his team's WPIAL Class AA semifinal Friday night, Jeannette coach Ray Reitz said he had never seen a game like the Jayhawks' 70-48 victory against Aliquippa.
But the significance of the contest goes beyond Reitz's personal experiences. No one in the history of the WPIAL has ever witnessed a game like that.
The 118 points scored in the game is the most of any in WPIAL history -- playoffs or regular season. The previous record was 113, set in 1998 when Northgate defeated Ford City, 69-44.
"I think I'm just starting to come down from that game," Reitz said yesterday afternoon. "I couldn't even talk afterward. I think everybody was just like 'wow.' "
The game featured 1,188 yards offense, including 331 yards rushing by Jeannette quarterback Terrelle Pryor. At one point in the third quarter, five touchdowns were scored in less than seven minutes.
