Ryan Mundy will likely miss the remainder of the year with an injury similar to the one that ended Lawrence Reid's career, Lloyd Carr reported at his Monday press conference. The junior free safety has been playing with pain for much of the last year, and it finally got to be too much.

"Mundy, I think, will not play in game competition this fall," said Carr. "There's nothing to take care of except that we were hoping he would be able to return. It's very similar to Lawrence Reid's injury.

This is a big loss for Michigan, he was one of the best players in a pitifull secondary, even though its scUM, you have to feel bad for the guy. I never want to see any player get injured, especially when its this serious.

Wow, somehow I missed the fact that Lawrence Reid's career was ended...he was a dominant LB in HS, it was a blast watching him play and comparing him to Carp in HS...Reid probably looked better than Carp in HS actually, its a shame his career is over

No idea who Mundy is though :)

Mundy was a hell of a player in the U.S. Army AA game a few years back. He was the one person I was actually jealous that scUM had a verbal for at the game. Had an INT and flew around making tackles the whole day. Them losing him would be like us losing Donte Whitner. Big blow for them. I never like seeing a player like that possibly never getting to play again.

Good luck, Ryan.
