The catching position has been an automatic out all season long.

That garbage won't fly in the playoffs.

The Indians have to be leading the league in pop ups and swinging at balls in the dirt.

Outside of Lindor and Chisenhall, no one will go to the opposite field regardless of where the pitch is located.

Outside of the occasional home run, no one is hitting the ball hard right now.

And most of this offensive ineptitude has come against crap pitching.

This team will win the AL Central, but they will be out of the playoffs quickly if their offense doesn't improve, and soon.

Fair points. I admit might be overly optimistic. I might blinded by what they showed earlier in the season and not what is happen lately. I certainly have more faith in this lineup than the 2013 lineup that laid an egg in that wild card game. The only good news is I would rather this regression (for a lack of a better term ) happened before the playoffs.... to your point I hope they hit better going into the post season.

I wonder if they are actually going to let Clevinger pitch like a starter or go with the bullpen again. His last start he only gave up 2 hits and 1 run but was pulled after 4 innings and 62 pitches.

In Shields only start vs the Tribe this year he gave up 8 runs on 7 hits and was yanked after 1 2/3. Since the start of August he has given up under 3 runs only once and allowed 5 or more runs 5 times. Hopefully they tee off on him again
