Well, I was ok at raquetball, but basketball was my preferred sport. Could play for hours nonstop, and play quite well. Unfortunately, I always had some mind block in regulation play where I locked up, so my talent never got beyond sandlot ball. Looking back, it woulda been nice if I'd had a mentor who could have gotten me through that. But oh well...whatcha gonna do.

I had a similar affliction. On the playground, I could outplay just about any of the Varsity starters my Senior year, but wasn't worth a shit when it came to organized ball.

Dang. You and me both. In my jr year, I could outplay any of them, including two that were 2-4 inches taller than I was (and they started as a forward and center). In practice I could shove the ball down their throats...they couldn't get anything past me to the rim. Let the clock start and I might as well be cheerleading.

it was a small college in new england. on academic but not athletic scholarship, as there weren't any. not quick and couldn't jump but could shoot, pass (loved to pass), and defend. due to the board's investigative prowess, i'd rather not name. i highly doubt i'd be found out anyway; nonetheless, i'm not taking the risk. :paranoid:

right now, i'm a much better golfer. :lol:
