This is from a guy that loves to post #$%! and see if it sticks but nonetheless:

The Dude of WV@theDudeofWV
There is a good chance UVA is headed to the Big 10.

For whatever reason the ShaggyBevo thread on expansion loves to talk about this dude's tweets. I'd love to get UVA... as team 13. Sanction PSU and keep them.

I'd LOL for days if the "eastern partner" Paterno whined about wanting to have finally came to the Big Ten as Penn State's replacement instead.

I would like for this to be true - the affiliation with the B1G would go a long way to help fix the problems that caused the bruhaha earlier this summer, and as an alum, I could get easy tix to go down there every other year to watch tOSU kick their ass.

No Big 12 or Baylor threads to put this link, but it's pretty impressive.

Baylor is building a new Stadium.

Love the water areas and public grounds surrounding the walkways.

I wish I could find the side by side pic again, but that water looks NOTHING like they're showing in those images. The best I can do is to zoom in on Google maps. It's brown and looks like a sewer.

RIP WAC

WAC to drop football after 2012 season, commissioner Hurd says

The Western Athletic Conference is forging ahead in its battle for survival with the realization that it will not be a football-playing conference after this season.

Commissioner Jeff Hurd said Monday the emphasis has turned to finding enough schools to retain NCAA Division I recognition as a nonfootball league. The University of Denver joined the WAC this summer as a nonfootball member.

"I think that sometime in late July it became apparent that it was unlikely we could continue with football," Hurd said. "We looked at every option we could think of. With the geography we have in terms of schools, it presents a challenge."

Hurd said challenges remain for the WAC to continue, even as a nonfootball conference. It must add multiple new members for the 2013-14 school year in order to have the necessary seven for NCAA recognition. He said an answer could be coming as early as September.

"If we can't get enough league members, we can't operate as a conference," Hurd said. "We're going to do everything possible to avoid that. There aren't any obvious answers out there."

is this an "onion" type website? I can't seem to confirm it anywhere else, but it says ND to join B1G in 2013

Well, they refer to the Big Ten as the Big 10, which is immediately wrong. They also write that Notre Dame announced they would be joining, which in reality would never happen - Delany would announce that we are letting, permitting or considering the possibility of having ND join us. I encourage looking for the FACTS on a reputable site like ESPN before posting
